Madison Man Gets Damanges
Madison, Jan. 24 - Special - Damages to the amount of $8,000 have been awarded by a Jackson county, Minn., jury to Martin Nerdahl of this city for the loss of a foot.
Mr. Nerdahl, who, up until he was hurt in February of last year, was a fireman on the Milwaukee railway, betwen here and Jackson, Minn., during a sleet storm slipped from the tender of an engine, sustaining a severe crushing of his right foot. The member was later amputated.
Advances made by Mr. Nerdahl's attorney to the railway company for a settlement, were not responded to, it is said. It was after the principals found it imposible to agree on an amount that would be satisfactory to both sides that suit was instituted in Jackson county, in which county the accident occurred.
