Location:
Section 23, Township 44N, Range 30W - Butte Township

History:
The Bunette Cemetery is located 24 miles northwest of White River on a hill overlooking the Burnette ranch house and the White River.

The Burnette Ranch (Bar X Bar) is the oldest ranch in Mellette County.

The cemetery was organized in 1895 by John Burnette. It is Episcopalian in denomination.

William Lee Burnette took us to visit the cemetery. He told us he didn't allow artificial flowers in the cemetery. We found it well fenced with a covering of native grasses and beds of iris and some bushes.
