History:
The Norris Cemetery is a neat country cemetery and is cared for by the community. It is well fenced and has a nice gate with identification over the gate. The records have been kept up and the stones are readable. The cemetery is located a the south edge of the little village of Norris in southwestern Mellette County.

The cemetery was organized 10 May 1929 by L. S. Zink, Otto Jorgensen, and Samual D. Harris. The land was donated by P. H. Putnam to the Norris Community Cemetery Association.
