This town and community was shadowed with sorrow last Friday afternoon, when it became generally known that John McDonnell, prominent citizen has passed away at Murdo, S. D., that afternoon. His death was somewhat of a shock to relatives and friends that he had previously been in quite good health for a man in advance years, however Mr. McDonnell had become slightly ill Tuesday night of last week and Friday decided to go to Murdo and consult a physician. He and Mrs. McDonnell took the mail transport that afternoon for that place intending to see the doctor that afternoon and return home the next morning.
