|
Established on land owned by Thomas Carlton Jr., and his wife Nancy Wade Carlton who came to Tennessee from North Carolina around 1809. Afte the death of Maj. Thomas Carlton his youngest son, David Carroll Carlton lived and raised his family in the house his father built. This property is situated near the Rover Community in the 10th District near the Rutherford County line. There are only four headstones.
There were many graves with only fieldstones, as well as slaves who were buried here. This small cemetery is well-kept by the present landowner Mr. Fay Clark (2000).
