Biography
WARD, Spiousborn 28 Jun 1843 Bedford Co, TN, son of Burrell Jr. Ward and Lavonia
Catherine Cooper. Family records indicate he died at Gettysburg PA 26 Jul 1863. His unit did not
fight at Gettysburg. However his service record shows that he was captured in Tullahoma, TN, sent to Camp Chase, OH, then to Ft. Delaware, and died at the US
Army Hospital at Chester, PA and was buried at the Chester Cemetery. (It was probably assumed by family that if he died in the Civil War in Pennsylvania, it
must have been at Gettysburg.)
