M.P. HANNAH
- Born in Bedford County, Tennessee, November 04, 1807; died in Kirksville, on October 16, 1877. He moved to this county {Adair Co MO} in 1844. He was engaged first in mercantile business and later in farming. His last days were spent in town. He was a prominent member of the Presbyterian church and of the Masonic order. his death came very suddenly, while apparently in his usual good health.
BOBBY JOE HASTY
, age 68, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, January 01, 2009, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Reverend Arnold King and Reverend Jimmy Gray will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. He was born April 4, 1940, in Bedford County, to the late Cecil Roscoe and Katie Ruth Nelson Hasty. He was retired from Empire Pencil Company and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Hardrick Hasty of Shelbyville; a son, Andy Lee, of San Francisco, California; a daughter, Kathy (Kenny) Lamb, of Shelbyville; a three sisters, Mary Frances Curbow, of Wartrace, Helen Hasty and Dianna Darnell, both of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, Chasity Lamb Solomon and Bo Lamb; his faithful companion, “Buddy”.
Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, or American Cancer Society. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
BONNIE JEAN (REED) HASTY
, age 79 of Shelbyville, Tennessee, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Heritage Medical Center in Shelbyville.
Mrs. Hasty is the daughter of the late Rufus Reed and Bonnie Diggs Reed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl T. Hasty in l993. She was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Hasty was a native of Abbott, Texas.
Mrs. Hasty was survived by her children: Richard Earl Hasty of Palmetto, Florida, daughter: Mrs. Cathy Cawthron of Shelbyville, sister: Shirley Parker of Joshua, Texas and brothers: Herman Gilder of Dillion, Texas and Lee Gilder of Joshua, Texas. She has six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hasty was preceded in death by her son: Ralph M. Hasty, her sister: Catherine Reed Maler and her brother: Bill Gilder.
Funeral services at Gowen-Smith Chapel conducted by Bro. Bob Payne. Burial in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville.
WILLIE LOU HAYES
, age 73, of Manchester, formerly of Shelbyville, died December 31, 2008, at United Regional Nursing Home in Manchester.
Memorial services will be 2 PM Sunday, January 11, 2009, at West End Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service Sunday at the church.
She was born July 3, 1935, in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was retired from the Cotton Mill in Pulaski. She was preceded in death by a son, Donny Hazelwood.
She is survived by three sons, Randy, David, and Jackie Hazelwood, all of Shelbyville; two daughters, Danna Ann Hazelwood and Diane Hazelwood, both of Shelbyville; a sister, Lucy Roberts, of Shelbyville; twelve step children, and eight grandchildren.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
