WILLIAM JOSEPH MULLINS
- The sudden and unexpected death of William Joseph Mullins, which sad event occurred at his home about five miles east of
Shelbyville early Sunday morning, was a shock to many friends and relatives of the deceased, in Shelbyville and the neighborhood where
he resided. He had been at his usual place of business at the Riverside Mills all day Saturday and though complaining of a severe
headache did not go home until late in the evening. He was almost unconscious on reaching home in his car and when first observed
evidences of the difficulties he had experienced in guiding his car the last few hundred yards were very easily detected. Jo. Mullins was
known to his friends for his quiet and unobtrusive manners and amiable disposition and his excellent qualities of mind and heart. He
was very large and fleshy and that condition under the influence of the excessive heat of the day doubtless induced the attack of acute
indigestion. He was a zealous member of the Lutheran Church at Jenkins Chapel and leaves a widow, his aged father, Jas. Mullins and several brothers and sisters. Buried in the JenkinsChapel Cemetery.
