JERRY MALIN , age 58, of Holladay, TN died Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in Camden General Hospital. He was born April 19, 1949 in Camden, TN to the late Harmon Malin and Katie Merrick Malin of Holladay, TN. Mr. Malin is survived by his mother, Katie Malin of Holladay, TN; brothers, Robert (Josie) Malin and Randy (Nancy) Malin of Holladay, TN; four nieces and two nephews. Services were held Friday, July 27, 2007, 1:00 PM in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden, TN. Interment followed in the McIllwain Cemetery. ROGER KENNETH MANN - Services for Mr. Roger Kenneth Mann, 90, will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at Oakdale Chapel with burial in Camden City Cemetery. , 83, Florence, Ala, passed away Monday, May 24, 1999 at ECM Hospital after an extended illness. A brief visitation will be held on Wednesday from noon-2 p.m. at elkins Funeral Home, Florence, with a memorial service following at 2p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Pisgah Methodist Church Cemetery on Cloverdale Road with Pastor Harry Underwood officiating. Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, directing.
Mrs. Marlar was born in Benton, TN to John and Linnie Akers Price on August 4, 1915. She moved to Lauderdale County in 1918. She was a member of Weeden Heights Baptist Church and retired from Genesco Manufacturing Company. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Marlar, who died in 1989, father and mother, John and Linnie Price of Cloverdale, AL; brothers, Rollie Price of Cloverdale, Thomas Price of Waverly, TN , O'Neal M. Price of Decatur, AL ; and sister, Elizabeth Heard of Florence. Survivors include a sister, Ruby O'Kelley; sisters-in-law, Martha Cochran, Anna Laura Newberry of Florence, Atwood Price of Cloverdale, Virginia Price of Madison, TN, Bernice Price of Decatur, AL; nieces and nephews and cousins.
LILLIAN MATLOCK - Services for Lillian Matlock, 78, will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Oakdale Chapel. Burial will follow in Camden City Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, James Matlock; one daughter, Anita Williams; one son, Larry Matlock; two sisters, Gladys Blasingim and Vivian Russell; brother, Lois Earp. DAN MATTINGLY - Real estate broker and developer Dan Mattingly, 88, of Big Sandy died Monday, May 18, 2009, at Henry County Medical Center. His wife of 68 years, Lillian Driskell Mattingly, survives. They were married on July 7, 1940. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Big Sandy. Joe Walker and Robert Burnett will officiate. Burial will be in Ramble Creek Cemetery. Chosen as pallbearers are Bob Yankel, Mike Hammell, Dick Driskell, Jerry and Bill Mattingly and Herb Bruce. Born Oct. 21, 1920, in Harrisburg, IL, he was a son of the late Joe and Bertha Prowell Mattingly. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and attended First United Methodist Church in Big Sandy. He also leaves a daughter: Linda (J.A.) Cowell of Big Sandy; a daughter-in-law: Carol Mattingly (Robert) Burnett of Big Sandy; three grandchildren: Mark (Tracy) Mattlingly of Clarksville, Leslie Mattingly Ellis of Big Sandy and Curt Carie of Memphis; and four great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a son: Larry Mattingly; a sister: Norma (William) Belt; and three brothers: Arthur (Kathleen) Mattingly, Charles (Barbara) Mattingly and Jack (Flora) Mattingly. RONALD McCOLGAN - Services for Ronald McColgan, 55, will be Thursday, May 16, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Big Sandy. The body will be cremated. JAMES BERNARD McLEROY - Services for Mr. James Bernard McLeroy, 55, will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakdale Chapel. He died April 24, 2002 at Camden General Hospital. ALVA LE (SMITH) MELTON , age 84, of Camden, TN, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Camden General Hospital. She was born November 22, 1923 in Camden, TN to the late Alonzo Smith and Vera Presson Grooms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Melton. Mrs. Melton is survived by her sons, Larry Melton and wife, Judy, of Sevierville, TN, Bobby Lynn Melton of Camden; daughter, Andrea Madden and husband, Walt, of Camden; sisters, Dora Jean Holland of Camden, Nina Faye Smithson of Camden; step-brothers, Gordon Grooms of Camden, Richard Grooms of Camden; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Melton was in the care of Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 2, 2007, at the Chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home. drowned in the Tennessee River when he fell from a ferry boat into 20 feet of water. He and some of his young companions were playing on the boat at Johnsonville when the tragedy occurred. Melton was buried at Flatwoods Methodist CHurch cemetery.

ERNEST MENZIES - Services for Mr. Ernest Menzies, 88, will be held Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. Oakdale Chapel with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery. Mr. Menzies died Wednesday at his residence. He is survived by 4 daughters, 2 sons and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Heusolene Menzies. GLADYS (CLENNEY) MILLER - Funeral services for Gladys Mae Clenney Miller, age 75, were held Sunday, Sept. 12, 2006 at 1 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church in Lexington. Burial was held at Berry Cemetery in Big Sandy. Arrangements were made by Pafford Funeral Home. Mrs. Miller passed away Sept. 10 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. She was retired from H.I.S. She is preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Miller; one son, Eddie Chalk and one step-daughter, Onita Buchanan. Survivors include one son, Carlton K. Miller, of Big Sandy; one daughter, Great Flowers of New Johnsonville; two step-daughters, Kathy Crockett of Big Sandy and Linda Miller, of Nashville; three brothers, Charles Clenney, Doyle Clenney, Wayne Clenney all of Lexington; four sisters, Maerene Nance, Shirley French, Earlene Keen all of Lexington and Bonnie Finley of Adamsville; one grandchild; six step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. - A Henry County serviceman, Marine Capl. Billy Dale Moore, has been killed in a jeep accident in Vietnam. He became the county's 12th fatality of the war.
Moore, 18, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. B C Moore of Springville and nephew of Mrs. Joe Wade, of Big Sandy.
A Marine lieutenant and a Navy captain from Clarksville brought word of the death to the Moores at 6:30 p.m. Monday. They said a Jeep in which he was a passenger struck a rock and turned over Feb. 13, killing Moore.
"He was a mechanic on the guns at Hill 55, out from Da Nang," his mother said. "He wrothe us this week, Mother, they'll protect me all they can, if I get it, the whole Hill 55 will go."
"I imagine he was on his way to Da Nang to get some gun parts. He had said he was going to have to make the trip."
Born July 18, 1950, in Benton County, Moore attended schools at Dover and Springville. He was employed by Copeland Refrigeration Service here before joining the Marine Corps July 18, 1967. He had been in Vietnam since last August.
A brother, Marine Pvt. First Class Bernard C. Moore, is currently home on leave from Camp Pendleton, Calif.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 28, at Congregational Methodist Church Mt. Carmel, near Big Sandy. Officiating were Rev. Hartsfield and the Chaplin from Ft. Campbell, Ky. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, B.C. Moore, Sr., father and Hazel Payne Moore, mother: 4 sisters, Peggy Jewell Moore, Kitty Moore, Regina Moore and Dotty Moore all of Springville; one brother, Pfc. B.C. Moore of Camp Pendleton, Calif.; grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Payne, Big Sandy.
DORIS JEANETTE MOORE
, age 59, died Tuesday April 21, 2009 at her home in Lexington. Mrs. Moore was a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church and was a teachers assistant at Scotts Hill High School. She is survived by her husband Bob Moore, a daughter Lisa Bridges of Lexington, her mother an dstepfather, Patricia and Dorris Rainey of McKenzie; a sister June Bridges of Enville; a half sister Kathy Mathis of Camden; two half brothers Terry and Sammy Rainwaters of Camden, three grandchildren Rowdy Millner, Josh Millner and Baylee Bridges, a niece and 2 nephews Derick Laura and Katie Boone and a special friend Carl Proctor. Funeral services were Friday April 24, 2009 at Scotts Hill Baptist Church with Tommy Crocker and Bro. Brad Ptterson officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery in Camden TN.
GENEVA LILLIAN MORTON - Services for Geneva Lillian Morton, 75, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 5, 2002 at Oakdale Chapel with burial in Morris Chapel Cemetery. , of Camden, age 80, were held Tuesday, June 3 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home with Leonard Greer officiating. Burial followed at Camden City Cemetery. Oakdale Funeral Home of Camden was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Moss passed away Sunday, June 1 at Camden General Hospital. She was born Aug. 8, 1927 in Sladen, Miss. to the late Talmage and Lillie Hunsucker McCord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence McCord.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Moss, of Camden; a son, Phillip Moss, and a daughter, Betty (James) Sanders, both of Memphis; two brothers, Robert (Lynnie) McCord, of Slaughter, La. and Glenn Farrar, of Diamond Head, Miss.; a sister, Chris (Ray Bonura) Burkett, also of Slaughter; six grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
