MARIE (BUTLER) TARR - Funeral services for Mrs. Dennie Marie Tarr, age 88, were conducted Friday, August 10, 2007, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home with Bro. Donnie Kirk and Bro. Jimmy Nobles officiating. Burial followed in Flatwoods Methodist Cemetery. Mrs. Tarr, a retired apartment manager passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007, in Henry County Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Gertie Todd Butler; her husband, William Tarr; son, James Tarr; daughter, Mary Sue Nance; sisters, Lennie Crossno, Beulah Mathis and Viola Mathis; brothers, Joe Butler, John Butler and Leland Butler as well as three grandchildren. Survivors include sons, Joe Tarr, Harold Tarr both of MO, Wesley Tarr of Murfreesboro; daughters, Dene Cox and Medgie Parsons both of Camden; and sister Rosie Gurien of Ridgely. Other survivors include thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren as well as several step grandchildren

JAMES JOSEPH THOMAS passed away Oct. 16 at his residence. He was born Feb. 28, 1939 in Alton, Ill. to the late Clyde Thomas and Bertha Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Johnell Lewis Thomas, a son, David Thomas, four sisters and one brother. He is survived by a son, Jeff (Vicki) Thomas; a daughter, Rhonda (Ray) Johnson, all of Camden; two sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren.

LOVELLE THOMPSON - Services for Ms. Lovelle Thompson, 83, will be held Thursday, June 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Stockdale-Malin Chapel with burial to follow in Eastview Cemetery. Ms. Thompson, a retired clerk, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Camden General Hospital. She is survived by her niece, Brenda Terry.

J.T. THORNTON - age 87, of Holladay, TN passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Camden Hospital. He was born August 28, 1920 in Holladay, TN to the late Raymond and Rosie Markham Thornton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jennifer Thornton Taylor. He was a pastor and father of Jerry Thornton, co-owner of Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden and co-owner of Oakdale Funeral Home-Decatur County and Decatur County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Thornton was also a veteran of the United States Army. Bro. Thornton is survived by his wife, Dorothy Morris Thornton of Holladay; sons, Jimmy (Judy) Thornton of Holladay, Jerry (Lynda) Thornton of Holladay; six grandchildren, Alan Thornton, Jaime (Marty) Tyler, Justin (Sandra) Thornton, Janelle (Ashley) Cook, Jeremy (Julie) Thornton, Jessica Thornton; nine great-grandchildren, Jay Taylor, Jenna Taylor, Jake Thornton, Jarrett Thornton, Taylor Cook, Logan Tyler, Lexi Tyler, Levi Thornton, Lyla Thornton. Bro. Thornton’s remains were in the care of Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Tipton officiating. Interment followed in the Thornton Cemetery

JIMMY MAX TOWNSEND - Funeral services for Jimmy Max Townsend, of Camden, age 76, were held Monday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home with Johnnie B. Arnold officiating. Burial followed at Flatwoods Methodist Cemetery. Oakdale Funeral Home of Camden was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Townsend passed away Saturday, Aug. 23 at Jackson-Madison Co. General Hospital in Jackson. He was born Jan. 21, 1932 to the late William and Queen Cuff Townsend. He was a well known grocery store manager in Benton Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Townsend, a granddaughter, Stephanie Townsend, and a sister, Janice Allen. He is survived by two sons, Bill (Kerri) Townsend, and Mike (Andrea) Townsend; a brother, Lanier (Reba) Vick, six grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren.

WILLIAM TROUTT - age 42, of Camden, TN died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 in Camden General Hospital, Camden, TN. He was born June 25, 1965 in Illinois to Iceam and Elizabeth Hundhausen Troutt of Camden, TN. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Melissa McCutcheon Troutt of Camden, TN; sons, Jonathan Troutt of Camden, William Troutt, Jr. of Camden; step sons, Collin Roberts of Michigan, Caleb Roberts of Michigan; brothers, Iceam (Tina) Troutt, Jr. of Holladay, Donald (Shelia) Troutt of Camden, Kenny Troutt of Martin; grandfather, Bill Hundhausen of Camden; and grandchild, Keelie Troutt of Camden. Mr. Troutt was in the care of Oakdale Funeral Home in Camden. Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 17, 2007, 1:00 PM in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home

EARL INGRAM TUBBS - 62, of Big Sandy, died Sunday April 18 at Benton County General Hospital in Camden Tenn. Services were held Tuesday, April 20 at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Greer officiating. Burial was in Berry Cemetary, located near his home in the Cedar Grove and Flatwoods community. Born Oct. 20, 1919 in Benton County, he was the son of the late William Tubbs and Ethel Cole Tubbs. Mr. Tubbs was a vetran of World War II, and had been a farmer in Benton County for many years. He was a member of the Flatwoods Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife: Inez Russell Tubbs; three daughters Earline Farmer and Mrs. Carolyn Waters, both of Big Sandy; Mrs. Betty Nichols of Paris; one son Ray Tubbs of Big Sandy; three sisters Mrs. Willie Mae Kelly, Camden; Mrs. Lorene Clendenion, Holladay; Mrs. Lounell Shearin, Atlanta, Georgia; Four brothers Grady Tubbs, Albert Tubbs and Charlie Tubbs, all of Holladay; Billy Tubbs of Camden and Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren

MARY (COOPER) TUBBS - Services for Mary M. Tubbs, 75, of Camden will be Tuesday, April 23 at 2 PM at Stockdale-Malin Chapel in Camden with Bro. Chad Kennedy and Bro. Jimmy Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Tubbs died on Sunday, April 21 at Camden General Hospital and was born July 31, 1926 in Benton County to Marvin Cooper and Ida Grissom Cooper who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by husband, Fred Tubbs, sister Gladys Smothers, and brothers Bobby Cooper and Thomas Ray Cooper. She is survived by a sister, Vione Craig of Auburn, IL; brothers, James Cooper of Holladay, TN, and William R. Cooper of Pine Mountain, GA. Mrs. Tubbs was a homemaker and a member of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.

PEARLY INEZ (RUSSELL) TUBBS - Former Big Sandy resident Pearly Inez Tubbs, 88, of Camden died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Camden Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. A daughter, Betty Nichols, lives in Paris. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home in Camden. Leonard Greer will officiate. Burial will follow in Berry Cemetery in Benton County. Visitation was planned from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Born in Benton County on June 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late D.W. and Pearl Terry Russell. She was the widow of Earl Tubbs. She was a homemaker and a member of Flatwoods Baptist Church. She also leaves one other daughter: Earline Farmer of Big Sandy; one son: Carl Ray Tubbs of Big Sandy; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Carolyn Sue Waters; two sisters: Cora Hartley and Mary Troutt; and seven brothers: R.P., Frank, Malcolm, Ocie, Fred, Tommy and Johnny Russell.
