"Interesting Facts"

Cleveland's first laundry: The domestic steam laundry was owned by John L. Dethero (b. April 23, 1876 and d. Feb. 22, 1933).

The company picked up laundry and delivered the clothing to Chattanooga for cleaning. One of the employee's was Sam Ward, he and "Tip" the Dethero's horse were one of the ones who delivered clothing to Chattanooga, Tennessee.


The first newspaper was The Banner, a democratic paper founded in 1854 by Robert McNelley.
