William Tolly/Tolley, Jr., volunteered and enlisted in the War of 1812 at Fayetteville, TN
in Lincoln County 9-28-1814 in the First Regiment of TN Mounted Volunteer Gunmen.
Served under Captain Samuel Crawford and Captain James McMahan. He was at the Battle of New Orleans,
Discharged April 27, 1815, a period of 212 days - 7 months. Was paid $8.00 month and 40 cents a day
for furnishing his horse for a total of $140. He was mustered out at Nashville TN.
His father William Tolley Sr. Fought in the ARW in NC and the Indian Wars in KY.
