, 63, of Henderson died April 26, 2006, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services were held April 28 at Casey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Daniel Hope officiating. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Chester County. She was born (9 March 1943) and reared in Chester County, the daughter of Audra Ollene Doyle Rodden and the late Charles Arthur Rodden. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1962. She married Johnie Vales in 1962, and they made their home in Chicago for 12 years and then moved to Henderson. She worked at Salant and Salant Manufacturing and Chester County Sportswear until it closed.
She is survived by her husband, Johnie Kendel Vales of Henderson; her mother, Audra Doyle Rodden of Henderson; a son, Barry Wayne Vales of Rose Creek; a daughter, Kimberly Dawn Vales of Henderson; a brother, Charles Rodden of Pineville, La.; three sisters, Mary An Shaw of Mt. Juliet, and Vickie Lynn Malone and Teresa Dawn Davis, both of Henderson; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
