Rev. A. J. Greer, who lived near Tazewell for many years, died last Wednesday, in the 67th year of his age. Mr. Greer was a Methodist, but had on account of feeble health, retired from active ministerial work several years ago. He had been confined to bed at intervals for several weeks prior to his death, but his illness was not considered serious. On the day of his death he told his family that he felt some better, got up, dressed and sat down in a chair by the fire, and in a little while thereafter peacefully and calmly breathed his life away, and his immortal spirit winged its way to the reward of the faithful. His remains were interred in the family burying grounds on Thursday by the Masonic fraternity, of which he had for many years been an honored member. – Tazewell Progress.
