Isham Croxdale
Will of ISHAM CROXDALE, deceased I, Isham Croxdale, of the county of
Claiborne, and state of Tennessee, now being in a very feeble state of health,
though possessing my reasonable mind, and of a disposing nature, do make this my
last will and testament in the form and manner following.
Item 1st, after paying all my just debts and funeral charges out of my effects,
I will and bequeath all my lands unto Lucinda Croxdale, my wife, to have and to
hold, unless she marries another, until my youngest child comes of age, at which
time I want, if my wife is still alive, her third reserved, and the balance
divided equally between my children, after taking the account out of those to
whom I have given according to valuation. But if in case my wife marries, at
that time, the division shall take place of the whole.
Item 2nd, I bequeath to my wife Lucinda, one horse beast, her choice, and all
the others in charge, cattle, sheep, etc., all the household and kitchen
furniture, to be disposed of in the form and manner of the land.
Item 3rd, I will and bequeath to all my children that has not got no horse
beast, to have as they come of age, one horse worth sixty-five dollars, and
saddle worth sixteen dollars, to make them equal with those that are of age.
In testimony of the above, I place my hand and affix my seal this the 29th day
of May 1855.
