Partial List of Soldiers from Cumberland County.


Neal Garland Clifton - He enlisted and was assigned to the 26th regiment 1st Infantry, also called the Big Red. He died October 10, 1918 from infection of wounds received. He is buried in Romange, France at the Muese Argonne American Cemetery.

George Dewy Clifton - He enlisted and served in the 1st Infantry. He died at Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, Texas, on November 21, 1924 of pneumonia.
