Born in Tennessee Nov, 26, 1858; son of John and Lucinda (Yarbro) Blount, Attended Decatur county schools;
studied law. Married Aug. 18, 1880, to Martha Fisher daughter of the Rev, John W, Fisher -
children Claude, Ellas, Nannie, Beatrice, Richard, Henry, Latham, Irville and J. W Began career as a merchant
and farmer; practiced law at Decaturville, Decatur County, and continued farming. Sheriff of county six years -
elected road supervisor, 1899; appointed election commissioner, 1902; elected county judge,- 1918; chairman of election commission, 1925;
secretary and treasurer of county Democratic Executive Committee, 1922. Member Methodist Episcopal Church;
Free and Accepted Masons; Royal Arch Masons; TM D.M. ; Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Died in Decatur County
Nov. 26, 1929; buried at Decaturville.
