ISHAM G. HEARN
Isham was born in Madison County, TN. He became a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South and was first placed on the circuit in Henderson County. He was later transferred to Decatur County Circuit. At the time of the Civil War, he was among the first to join the cause. He was made captain of Company G, 20th Regiment Mounted Infantry also known as the "Decatur County Tigers". He died at Shiloh, April 6,1862, while leading his men in battle. He was married in 1852, to Anna K. Dixon, daughter of Wallace Dixon. After his death, Anna married Paul H. Fisher. Anna and Isham were the parents of Isham G. who died at about the age 18 ; Flora who married Fayette Fisher of Decatur County; Wallace D. who married Laura A. Fisher, daughter of A.A. Fisher ; Thomas Y. who was born February 17, 1857 and married Nancy A. Fisher daughter of Jonathan Fisher. Nancy died in 1883, and Thomas Y.then married Dixon Smith, daughter of G.W. Smith of Decatur County. In 1885, he began a general merchandise business in Decaturville.
