First married to Elizabeth and later to Sarah E.; sources do not reveal family name of either wife or date and place of either
marriage; he had ten children but by which wife not indicated;

Jonathan. Subject described as owner of much land and of many slaves; engaged in many land transactions and buying and
selling of slaves; lived in 4th civil district of Decatur county. Date of death and place of burial not found. Name also spelled variously as Stegald, Stegall, Steagall.
