E.M. TOWNSEND
E. M. was born 12 February 1862 in Humphreys Co. In 1888, he married Cordelia Harrison who was born in Gibson Co. They lived in Trenton for several years until moving to Decatur Co. in 1895 to the Hog Creek community of Oak View. They lived there until 1918 when they moved to Parsons. In Parsons, they lived in a large 2 story house on the old Perryville Highway. In Oak View, E. M. was a country merchant. He was a superintendent for Ayer and Lord Tie company for many years. E. M. died in 1938 at age 76. Cordelia "Delie" died in January, 1964. They were the parents of 11 children. Revo H., the oldest son, married Sally Wheeler of Atlanta. Leonard O. was elected County Registrar in 1926 and served for 8 years. He married in 1941 to Hilda Primm. Cecil was the 3rd son. He married in 1914 to Berlie Curtis. Mahlon married Emma Odle in 1915.
Herman, the 5th child married Emma Lou Reeves. He died in 1970. Beatrice married Howell Daniels in 1927 and lived in Akron, Ohio. Raymond was the 7th child. He married Sophia Malin in August, 1932. Hobart married 6 October 1933 to Ruth Jennings. Wilburn married in 1932 to Emma Lou Long. Annie was the 10th child. She married Jesse Dodd in 1929. After his death in 1957, she married Floyd Rogers. Imogene was the last child of E. M. She was born on 4 July. She married Madison Smith first. After his death in 1956, she married Charlie Pratt.
