Born in Tennessee c.1837; exact date and place of birth, names of parents, and extent of schooling not found; studied law. One George Walters was married in 1860 to E. E. White, daughter of M. N. White; one son - J. L. There was more than one George Walters in Decatur County during their period and there is no certainty that information found outside House Journal applied to legislator.
