TERESA L. (STANFILL) BACCUS - Services for Teresa L. Baccus were at Sardis Ridge Baptist Church, Parsons, TN, Sunday, October 18, 2009. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Teresa L. Baccus, age 44, of Parsons TN, passed away Friday, October 16, 2009 at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was the widow of Thomas Baccus. Teresa is survived by two daughters, Crystal Morgan of Parsons; Martha Jean Baccus of Parsons; of Decaturville; by one grandaughter; her mother, Martha Imogene Stanfill, of Parsons; her father, Holbert Stanfill of Columbis TN.

BETTY BAILEY - Services for Mrs. Betty Bailey were Saturday March 24, 2001 at Parsons Mortuary with burial in Trinity Cemetery. Mrs. Bailey, 52, died Thursday March 22, 2001 at her home in McMinnville of cancer. She was a nurse. LENA BALLINGER - Services for Lena Ballinger, 84, will be at 2 p.m. today at Parsons Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in the Yellow Springs Cemetery in Holladay. Miss Ballinger, a seamstress, died Tuesday at Decatur County General Hospital of heart disease. She is survived by a sister and two brothers, Ella Mullinax and Delmar Ballinger, both of Parsons, and D. B. Ballinger of Auburndale, Fla.

D.B. BALLINGER - Services for D.B. Ballinger were Feb. 15, 2011 at North Port, FL. He was preceded by his wife Pauline; two sisters, Lena Ballinger and Jessie Green. Survivors include one son, Larry Ballinger, Cherokee Village AK; one daughter; Annette Ballinger, North Port FL; one brother, Delmar Ballinger, Parsons; one sister Ella Mullinax and three grandchildren.

DOCK BALLINGER - Funeral services for Dock Ballinger, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Yellow Springs Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Shell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Parsons Mortuary in charge. Mr. Ballinger died Monday afternoon at the Decatur County Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired saw mill operator and timber appraiser. Surviving are two sons, D. B. Ballinger of Truman, Ark.,, and Delmer Ballinger of Sugar Tree, Tenn.; three daughters, Miss Lena Ballinger of Parsons, Mrs. Ella Mullinax of Memphis, and Mrs. Jessie Quinn of Humboldt; a brother, Clint Ballinger of Camden; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Taylor of Holland, Mo., Mrs. Nora Hidgon of Parsons, Mrs. Gray King of Camden and Mrs. Minnie Ballinger of Holladay; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

SAMUEL CARTER BARBER , age 90 of Morris, Illinois and formerly Decaturville, Tennessee, passed away Monday April 19, 2010 at his home in Morris. Born October 3, 1919 in Selmer, Tennessee, Samuel was a son of the late Jeff Barber and Minnie Ester Kennedy. He was raised and educated in Decaturville by his mother and step-father Frank White and was a graduate of Decaturville High School. On August 16, 1940, Samuel married Claudia Blakeman in Corinth, Mississippi and together they were married for 65 years. Claudia preceded him in death on February 24, 2005. Samuel was a member of Ironworkers Local #393 in Aurora, Illinois, from where he retired. He was known for his love of horses, cattle and dogs, and also enjoyed coon hunting and raising coon hounds. Survivors include his son Frank (Sally) Barber of Morris, Illinois; two grandchildren: Greg (Mandy) Barber of Farmersville, Texas and Lori (Danny) Hill of Verona, Illinois; five great grandchildren: Franklyn, Benjamin, Timothy and Rebecca Barber and Daniel Hill; one brother Bobby N. (the late Patricia) White of Decaturville and two sisters-in-law: Bonnie (Loy) Blakeman of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Beatrice (Troy) Blakeman of Spring Valley, Tennessee, as well as several nieces and nephews. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents; wife Claudia and several half brothers and sisters, including Maxine (Chet) White – Howard. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 21, 2010 between the hours of 4:00PM and 8:00PM at Reeves Funeral Home, 408 East Washington in Morris, Illinois (815/942-2500) and again Saturday April 24, 2010 from 11:00AM until time of funeral service 1:00PM at Reed’s Chapel, 113 Southwest Street in Decaturville, Tennessee (731/852-3643). Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Decaturville. Burial followed in Trinity Assemboy Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge. Mrs. Bledsoe passed away late Tuesday in Jackson. She was born Feb. 27, 1940 in Decatur County to the late Oscar and Coma Tucker Aaron. She was a homemaker. She was preceded by one daughter, Lisa Joy Bledsoe; two great grandchildren, Haylee Brooke and Sarah Beth; and one sister, Charlotte Aaron. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, J.B. Bledsoe of Sardis; her two sons, Steve of Parsons and Shawn of Owensboro KY; her daughter Deborah Carrington of Scotts Hill; two brothers, Paul Aaron of Lexington and Rob Aaron of Decaturville; three sisters, Nellie Sue Swift of Decaturville, Ada Hancock of Lawrenceburg and Linda Rhodes of Decaturville.

ALENE BRIDGES - Funeral services for Mrs. Alene Bridges, age 83, were conducted 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Scotts Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Tommy Crocker and Bro. Brad Patterson officiating. Burial followed in McBride Cemetery in Sardis. Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bridges died Sunday at her home in Sardis. She was born May 23, 1925 in Henderson County to the late Elbert King and Lessie McBride Brown. She was a retired machine operator for Brown Shoe Company and a member of Scotts Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Deuell Bridges; four brothers, Earl, Adam, Ray, Harold Gene Brown; her sister, Irene Creasy; one grandchild, Wesley Milam. Survivors include two sons, Don Bridges of Sardis and Johnny Bridges of Cordova; two daughters, Phyllis Scott and Sheila Moore of Sardis; two brothers, Faye Brown of Sardis and William Howell of Lexington; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren

Mitchell Millholen officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Burnett pased away Monday,July 13,2009 at Decatur County General Hospital. He was born September 28,1952 in Milan, TN to the late Mr.J.B. Burnett and Grace Pratt Burnett. Terry served our country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Burnett was preceded in death by his parents,J.B. and Grace Burnett;one brother,Randall Burnett;three sisters, Tresia D. Rosson, Bernice Britt, infant sister. He is survived by a son Joey M. Burnett of Murray,Ky; one daughter, Mary Frantz (Jamey) of Jacksonville,Fl; two brothers, Rickey (Demetrius) Burnett of Parsons, Mickey Burnett of Lexington; two sisters, Tena (David) Byrd of Holiday, Shelia (Ricky) Brantley of Lexington. MAX RAY BUTLER - Services for Max Ray Butler were Monday November 9, 2009 at Parsons Mortuary. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cem. Mr. Butler, 87, died Nov. 7, 2009 at Jackson Hospital. He was preceded by a brother, Glenn Butler, three sisters, Melvie Lomax, Maxene Lomax and Leonie Montgomery and one great grandchild. He is survived by hsi wife, Edna Mae Grice of Parsons; one son Doyle of Parsons, on e daughter Sharon Brown of Lexington and four grandchildren.

MILLIE ALICE (IVEY) BUTLER passed away at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Keeton near Decaturville Saturday night, Mrs. Butler was born September 20, 1867, and married Austin Butler in 1881. To this union were born 12 children, three of whom preceded her in death in early life. Mr. Butler passed away in the year 1918. Nine children survive, Perry Butler, Carl Butler, Mrs. Richard Blount, Clyde Butler, Mrs. Walt Morgan, Mrs. Bonnie Keeton all of Decaturville, Mrs. Joe Hopper of Newbern, Tenn., Mrs. Floyd Welch and Mrs. William Myracle of Bertrand, Mo. 31 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, also 3 brothers and 2 sisters survive. A host of other relatives and friends mourn her passing. Services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Ivey cemetery with Bro. L. J. Thompson from Scotts Hill officiating. Pall Bearers were: Charles Butler, Carl Butler Jr., Rogers Moore, and Eddie Smith all grandchilren. She was a kind companion, a loving mother, and her community has lost a kind and loving friend. Haney and Wylie Funeral Home of Decaturville in charge of funeral arrangements.

WILLIAM GLYNN BUTLER 77, employee of the Green Thumb Program and retired from the former Thermo Dynamics Company, died Tuesday of kidney failure at Regional Hospital in Jackson. Services will be at 2pm today at Parsons Mortuary with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mr. Butler leaves two sisters, Mexene Lomax of Decaturville and Leonie Montgomery of Jackson, and a brother, Max Ray Butler of Parsons.
