The ground chosen for the National
Cemetery at Chattanooga
is a beautiful knoll, 103 ½ feet above the level of the Tennessee,
1 ½ miles southeast of Chattanooga,
and equidistant from Mission Ridge, Lookout Mountain and the river.
On the crest it is proposed to place a national
monument. The Cemetery will contain About 45 acres.
