Attorney; born in Gibson County, Tennessee, October 25, 1900; son of U.S. and Emma T. (McMinn) McCaslin; Scotch-Irish descent; married August 20, 1931 to Marguerite Rogers. Paternal grandparents Thomas Jefferson and Mary (Vickers) McCaslin; maternal grandparents John T. and Jane (McKelvey) McMinn. After attending the public schools of Tenn. and Ky., he entered Cumberland University at Lebanon; LL.B. degree 1929. Member Methodist Episcopal Church So.; Democrat; Sigma Nu Phi. Passed the State Bar examination in June 1929; began the practice of law at Milan, Tenn. in January 1930; remained in Milan until 1936, at which time he moved to Boliver, where he now resides; although having only a few years of practice to his credit, he is one of the leading lawyers of his county where he takes an active interest in all affairs. He was a sailor in the U.S. Navy during the World War, serving for ten months; discharged on March 15, 1919. His grandfather served with Nathan Bedford Forrest's Cavalry during the Civil War; was wounded in the battle of Shiloh. He is the father of one child, Will Rogers, age one year.
