| .....In the days following, Isham continued to use the skills that had served him so well during the War. Some say he was a U. S. Marshall, but finding no record of that, it seems more logical that he was a bounty hunter. It is reported that he always got his man. One night he and his prisoner were making camp and the prisoner said, "I some times thrash around quite a bit during the night, so don't be surprised if I accidentally hit you." Isham patted his gun and replied, "I thrash around too, so don't be surprised if this goes off." (Contributed by Betty Hughes) |
