RALPH GILLENWATER
- Services for Ralph Lee Gillenwater were March 2, 2010 at Lexington Christian Church. He is preceded by his wife of 53 years, Carol Gillenwater; two daughters, Tamera Perkins, Jaquline Hall; one son, Richard Marks. Mr. Gillenwater, age 78, died Thursday Feb. 25, 2010 at Jackson Madison Hsp. He is survived by Michael (Theodora) Gillenwater, OH; Timothy (Joyce Gillenwater, Lexington; Ralph (Valerie) Gillenwater, Huron. He has nine grandchildren, Timothy Gillenwater, Tiffney Gillenwater, Shawn Gillenwater, Carol Gillenwater, Charolyn Davis, Ashley Benningfeld, Roxanne Gillenwater, Jimmy Gillenwater, Chelsea Gillenwater and 21 great-grandchildren.
JEANNA GILLMAN
, age 61, died Friday at Henderson Hospital the family chose cremation. She is survived by her husband Kimberlain Gillman; two daughters Barbara Gillman and Carrie Gillman both of St. Louis; three Sons, Louis Taylor, David Taylor and Kim Gillman III all of St.Louis and 11 grandchildren.
IDA M. (GREER) GANTT
- was born Feb. 25, 1859 died Jan. 30, 1944, aged 84 years. She was married to Andy J. Gantt Nov. 17, 1879 who preceded her several years ago. To this union were born 10 children, three of whom preceded her; Freeman, Opie and Myrtle. Those surviving are John and Roy, Jackson; Henry of Humboldt, Tom of Beech Bluff; Robert of Clinton KY and Mrs. E.P. Kee, Luray.
JAMES ROBERT GARLAND
, age 36, died Monday in Lexington. He was preceded by his father Robert Edward Garland. Survivors include his mother Joyce Henderson; his stepfather, Tony Henderson; three sisters, Alica Davis, Margaret Brantley and Tonya Marie Henderson.
JEANNE A. (HILLIARD) GARRETT
- Services for Mrs. Jeanne Garrett will be today, Wednesday, November 29, 2 p.m. at Pafford Funeral Home with burial in Independence Cemetery. Mrs. Garrett, who was 41, died Sunday, November 26, at Lexington Methodist Hospital of heart failure. She was a registered nurse. She leaves her husband, David Garrett of Lexington; a daughter, Amy Havard of Lexington; her parents, Jim Hilliard and Helen Phipps Hilliard; two step-sisters, Ellen Adams of Memphis and Christi Null of Southhaven, MS; a step-brother, David Hilliard of Greenfield, TN., and a grandchild.

, died Monday September 20, 2010 at Jackson Madison County General Hsp. He was a retired construction worker. He was preceded in death by his father Mr. George Washington Getman. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Althea Getman of Lexington; two sons John of Thersa NY and Douglas of West Carthage NY; two daughters, Amy Hubbard of West Carthage NY and Cynthia Hubbard of Carthage NY; his mother Mrs. Mable Durham of Carthage NY; a sister Teresa Hosmer of Watertown NY, nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Servi es were held in Black River NY.

- Services for Eldean Gooch were Monday at Timberlake Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Felix Tuggles officiating. Burial was in Kiser Cemetery with People Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Gooch, who was 46, died in Indianapolis, Ind., Thursday afternoon after a long illness. He was an auto body repairman and formerly of Henderson County. He leaves his mother, Elnora Belew of Indianapolis; a stepfather, John Belew of Wildersville, seven brothers, Owen Taylor, Charles E. Taylor, Danny Taylor all of Atwood, James L Belew, Alreis Belew, both of Indianapolis, John D. Belew of Lexington and Eugene Woods of Pensacola, Fla.; six siters, Arlene Greer, Marlene Clark, Jean Belew, all of Indianapolis, Joyce Cherry of Jackson, Alice Forta of Humboldt and Myra Taylor of Decatur, Ill.
MARGARETTE GOODMAN
- Funeral services for Margarette Goodman will be Wednesday March 24, 2010 at 4 pm at Reeds Chapel with burial to follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Mrs. Goodman, age 79, of Lexington, died Sunday March 21, 2010 in Lexington. She is survived by two daughters Patricia (Randy) Climer of Reagan and Sally Goodman Moffit of Lexington, two sons, Virgil Goodman Jr. of Lexington and Stephen (Joann) Goodman of Reagan; a sister Nancy Fulner of Mississippi, a brother Donnie I. Smith of Lexington and eleven grandchildren. SHe was preceded in death by her husband V.A. Goodman and three children, Charles Goodman, Phillip Goodman, and Dorothy Goodman Denley.

Mr. Green, who was 89, died Sunday, May 28, at Decatur County General Hospital of kidney failure. He was a retired auto worker. He leaves four daughters, Detra Blankenship, Jane Doyle, both of Huron, Claudia Burke and Mitchell Fesmire, both of Lexington; a sister, Lou Ella Farrar of Jackson, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Greenway, who was 85, died Tuesday at Jackson General Hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Albert V. Greenway, Sr. She leaves two daughters, Opal Greenway and Faye Lovell, both of Lexington; a son, Albert J. Greenway Jr. of Jackson; a brother, Guy Horton of Dyersburg, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Greenway, who was 90, died Monday at Lexington Manor Nursing Home after a long illness. He was a Pentecostal. - Services for John Vernon Greenway were Tuesday at Pafford Funeral Home with burial in Independence Cemetery. Mr. Greenway, who was 56, died Sunday afternoon at Jackson General Hospital after a long illness. He was a carpenter and contractor and was a member of the Youth Town Boys Club in Pinson. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nora Sparks Greenway of Huron; four daughters, Mrs. Patricia Sloan, Mrs. Barbara Cross, Mrs. Terri Austin, all of Lexington and Mrs. Joyce Allen of Huron; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Greenway of Lexington; a brother, Albert Greenway Jr. of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Eddie Fae Lovell and Miss Opal Greenway, both of Lexington and 12 grandchildren.
STACEY JO GREENWAY
- Services for Stacey Jo Greenway were Monday, July 5, at Pafford Funeral Home, Scotts Hill with burial in Independence Cemetery. Miss Greenway, who was 18, died Saturday, July 3, at Decatur County General Hospital of injuries received in an auto accident. She was a part-time employee. She leaves her father and mother, Johnny and Kathy Greenway of Scotts Hill; two brothers, John Greenway of Reagan and Rocky Greenway of Scotts Hill; and grandmothers, Jamie Greenway, Minnie Hollowell and Lucy Nunnery.
JOSEPH ELMER GRIFFIN
- well-known farmer and citizen of this district, died at his home one mile west of Lexington, Tuesday morning at nine o'clock, and was buried Wednesday at the Beech River cemetery, services conducted by Rev. Simpson Daniel.
Mr. Griffin had been ill for some time. He was 54 years old. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. J. D. Griffin, his wife, Mrs. Esther Sheppart Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. H. V. Lindsey, and Miss Nadine Griffin; one son, Elbert, of Nashville; six sisters, Mrs. R. L. Rogers, Mrs. Glennie Whitehead, Miss Nora Griffin, Mrs. Minnie Sumner, Miss Linnie Rhodes and Mrs. Lena Petty, all of this county. R. R. Pafford in charge.
LILLY ESTES (SHEPPARD) GRIFFIN
- Services for Mrs. Lilly Estes Griffin 65, were scheduled for Thursday afternoon from Pafford Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. A.U. Nummery of Parsons and the Rev. Edwin Duesner of Lexington. Mrs. Griffin died at her home in Nashville Tuesday following a stroke. A native Henderson Countian Mrs. Griffin spent practically all her life here, moving to Nashville 5 years ago. She was a daughter of the late John and Sarah Ruddle Sheppard. Her husband J.E. Griffin died 13 years ago. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nadine Samuel of Louisville KY; Alyne Griffin of Nashville, a son Elbert Griffin also of Nashville; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Stewart, Hollywood, CA, Mrs. Bertha Wilkerson, Bemis; Mrs. Edith Tomlin, Madison; and Mrs. Ramell Brantley, Pekin IL; two brothers, Elmer and Carl Sheppard of Lexington. Burial will be in Beech River Cemetery.

- Services for James Albert Grimsley were Sunday at Mazies Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev.s Connie Burton and Earl Owens officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Reed’s Chapel in charge. Mr. Grimsley, who was 69, died Saturday at Lexington Hospital after a long illness. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Teler Grimsley of Lexington; a stepson, Bill Overman of Belle Bills, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Britt and Mrs. Connie Lou Churchwell, both of Lexington; a half brother, Frank Tate of Lexington; three sisters, Mrs. Martha Hart, Mrs. Mae Garvey and Mrs. Lena Williams, all of Lexington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

- Services for Edna Gritz, 82, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Reed's Chapel. Burial is in Jones Cemetery, Wildersville. Mrs. Gritz died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at her home. She is survived by her husband Harold Gritz of Wildersville, one daughter Jeannie Roberts of Wildersville, Tenn.; two sons, Jim Gritz of Dallas, Tex. and Darrell Gritz of San Pedro, Calif.; one brother, Ray Holtzen of Meade, Okla. and one step-grandchild.
BILL GROSS
- Services for Mr. Bill Gross, 72, were Monday March 23, 2009 in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Charles Thomason and Billy White officiating. Private graveside services followed on Tuessday at Henderson CountyMemory Gardens in Lexington. Mr. Gross, a retired construction supervisor, was the son of the late Henry and Lucille Whittle Gross and died Saturday March 21, 2009 in Jackson. In his free time, Bill enjoyed fishing, wood working an dcould literaly fix or build anything. He is survived by his wife of44 years, Joann Gross of Huron; their daughter, Kim Carrington and her husband Rusty of Darden and their children, Jesslyn and Allie; a son, Billy Gross and his wife Elizabeth of Jackson and their children, Sarah and Ryan; a sister Betty Joyner of Huron and a brother, Bobby Gross of Lexington. He was preceded by a son, Timothy Gross.

- Services for Jean Gross were Aug. 27, 2011 at Reeds Chapel in Lexington with burial to follow in Lexington Cemetery. Mrs. Gross, age 71, died August 24, 2011 in Jackson. She is survived by herhusband, Bobby Gross; two sons, Joey Gross and Jeff (Tina) Gross; two brothers, Buck Myracle of Lexington and Alton Myracle Jr. of Lexington; two sisters, Martha Jo Blane of AK and Louise Normand of LA and four grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; Alton and Nellie Myracle and two sisters, Jewell Harris and Jenel Thomas.
BEULAH L. (EVANS) GULLEDGE
, age 89, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the Decatur County General Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2008, at the Cedar Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Hays and Bro. Ed Tubbs officiating. Interment followed in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Parsons Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gulledge is survived by her sons, Ronnie Gulledge of Portage, IN and Kent Gulledge of Parsons; sister, Mondelca Johnson of Holladay; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Zegal Gulledge; mother, Mary Cagle Evans; father, Gus Evans; daughter, Dorothy Goodman; and sister, Bonnie Gulledge.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Ron Gulledge, Jimmy Gulledge, Robert Gulledge, Kyle Gulledge, Danny Goodman, and Donald Gulledge.
Honorary pallbearers were Kurt Gulledge and David Goodman.
LOU NELL (HAGGARD) GULLEDGE
- Funeral services for Mrs. Gulledge were Friday at Parsons Mortuary Chapel. Interment followed in Cedar Hill. Mrs. Gulledge, age 62, died Sept. 24, 2008 at Decatur Co. Gen. She was preceded by her mother Ella Quinn Haggard, father Henry Haggard, a sister, Dorothy Jean Haggard. Survivors include her husband WIlburn Gulledge, Holladay; one brother William Haggard, Parsons four sisters, Virginia Hayes, Bonnie Tubbs, Rita Taylor and Freda Smith.
