McPEAKE FAMILY REUNION
July 8, 1932 - Lexington Progress

The McPeake family to the number of 267 met last Sunday at the old McPeake home at Rock Hill near Warren's Bluff and enjoyed a basket dinner and barbecue, with the addition of plenty of lemonade, ice water, good cheer, and interesting program, and so much pleasure in the assembly that it was voted to make the reunion an annual event to occur at the same place on the first Sunday in July each year.

J.A. Deere presided over the formal meeting and speeches were made by Ben H. Deere and John L. SUllivan. The family history was read, showing it to be among the earliest to settle in this county, the pioneer ancestors of the present generation, having coming from Virginia, settling for a short time near Murfreesboro, and coming to Henderson County in about 1824 or 1825. The present family includes 12 children, 72 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.
