main source of this section has been compiled from "The
History of Hickman County, Tennessee by W. Jerome D. Spence and David L.
Spence".
This book, which was first published by Gospel Advocate Publishing Company
in Nashville, TN in 1900 was entered in the Office of the Librarian of
Congress at Washington in 1900 and has been recently reprinted by The
Higginson Book Company in Salem, Massachusetts and was photo produced from
the original. The book goes into
quite a bit of history detail but I've tried to extract the genealogy
information as best I could and alphabetically list each early settler by
district. Some chapters have been transcribed in their entirety due
to the historic content. I highly recommend to anyone who is a serious researcher
of Hickman County to get this book. I apologize in advance for any
names I may have left out on the chapters where names were extracted. This section is also open to anyone
to submit their ancestors who were among the early settlers of Hickman
County. Any submitted entries will be credited to the submitter.
