Biographies
DR. JEROME ALBERT BROCK
Physician and surgeon; born at Erie, Loudon County, Tenn., March 24,
1877; of English, Dutch, Scotch-Irish descent; son of James Madison and Sarah Fine (Webster) Brock. He was married
to Fannie Lou Kinser, May 24, 1904. Paternal grandparents Dr. Zachariah and Nancy (Cooley) Brock; maternal grandparents
David and Betsie (Bohanan) Webster. Attended public schools of Loudon, Roan, and Rhey [Rhea] Counties; Grand View
Normal Institute 1895-97; Tennessee Medical College, M.D. degree 1901; University of Tennessee, M.D. degree 1935.
Republican; member of the Methodist Episcopal Church So.; W.O.W.; Jr.O.U.A.M.; McMinn County and Tenessee Medical
Associations. Began the practice of medicine in Loudon County where he remained for twelve years; spent one year
in New Mexico. He then returned to Tennessee resuming the practice of his profession at Athens. Has held many positions
of trust; Pres. U.S. Pension Board, Medical Officer U.S. Civil Service Board, Medical Examiner U.S. Veterans Bureau.
Elected Health Officer for Bradley Co. in 1917, which position he still holds. His father served in the Union Army
during the Civil War. He is the father of two children, Capt. Hobert M. Brock, reserved U.S. Army Officer and Mrs.
Cecil Irene Sexton, teacher. His hobby is livestock.
