 In Memory - 1786 - 1870 - By Suzan Gordon at Find-A-Grave John C. Teague, a Miller and Surveyor by trade was born, June 21st, 1786, in Laurens County, South Carolina. He was the oldest son of the several children that William Teague ,1761-1845, and his wife Elizabeth Miller had. He moved with his parents to Wilson County, Tennessee in 1806 and later to Hardeman County. He married Nancy, born 1784 in North Carolina, died in 1861 in Hardeman County. They are both buried in Clover Creek Cemetery. Note: Church records reflect John in the church rolls until his death in 1870. In 1849, John gave two and one-half acres of land on which to build the church. The Church later was moved to Medon, Tennessee in 1914 although the old cemetery remains at its |
