Madison County TN Obituaries MILLARD C. DAVIS , 89, of Jackson, Tenn., formerly of Laclede County, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, training in the Aleutian Islands. He was a retired machine operator at Proctor and Gamble and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his wife, Grace Eilenstine Davis, of the home; a daughter, Carol Jean Bryant and her husband, Glenn, of Medon, Tenn.; a son, Larry Charles Davis and his wife, Helen, of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Johns and Charles and Stephanie Davis; two great-grandchildren, Zane and Caleb Johns. Local relatives include a sister-in-law, Hazel Dotson; cousins Mazie Davis, Wanda Berry and Leland North, also other relatives. Services for Millard Charles Davis were held Saturday, March 8, 2008, from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Dr. John Bonson officiating. Burial with military honors was held at graveside in Highland Memorial Gardens, under the direction of George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel in Jacksonville, Tenn. REBA DAVIS - Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Davis, 85, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday October 17, 2007 in the chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Renshaw officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Mrs Davis died October 15, 2007. She was a member of East Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Houston Davis in 1988. Survivors include a son , Harold Davis and wife, Doris of Jackson; a daughter, Dianne Hale and husband, Richard of Jackson; three grandsons, Mike Davis and Randy Davis both of Jackson and Rodney Hale of Cedar Grove, TN; seven great- grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; a sister, Bea Byrd of Milan, TN. HAROLD DEACON - Funeral services for Harold Deacon were Tuesday Feb. 10, 2009 at Reeds Chapel, Lexington. Burial followed in Highland Memorial Garden, Jackosn. Mr. Deacon, age 73, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 in Lexington. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Deacon, Lexington; one daughter, Dina Grizzle, Huntingdon Beach, CA; one son Danny Deacon, Huntingdon Beach CA; and two grandchildren Tyler and Travis. Lexington Progress EDWARD MOORE DeLOACH - Graveside services for Edward Moore DeLoach, 90, will be held Saturday, March 17, at 11:00 A.M. at Brown's Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. on Saturday morning. Mr. DeLoach died on March 13, 2007. He was born in Madison County and received his education at Pope School. For eleven years, he served in the U.S. Navy, including the duration of World War II. Returning to civilian life, Mr. DeLoach farmed with his brother and father. He was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Edward DeLoach was a quiet man who was loved and respected by his family and friends. Mr. DeLoach was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbon M. DeLoach and Lucy Smith DeLoach; a brother, John W. DeLoach; two sisters, Evelyn D. Walls and Etta Kate Haskins; a wife, Anna May O'Neal DeLoach. Surviving Mr. DeLoach are two sisters, Marie D. Senter and Jane D. Walker; one brother, Smith H. DeLoach; several nieces and nephews. The Jackson Sun 03/16/2007 TED ALLEN DILL , 60, of Green Gove SPrings FL, passed away Dec. 16, 2010. He was born 24 Aug 1950 in Jackson to parents, Windfred and Betty Dill. Ted was a retired Commander of the US Navy and was a Vietnam War and Gulf War Veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 250 in Middleburg and was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed golf and was a volunteer for 11 years at the TPC Tornnment. He was also known as an awesom artist and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded by his father, Winfred Dill. He is survived by his mother, Betty of Lexington; wife Chris, children, Carey Atkins, Caleb Dill and Joseph Dill; sister Nancy Agner and grandchildren Wendy, Nicole, Cody, Christian, Julie and Olivia. A Memorial service was held Dec. 21, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Don Corbit officiating. Military honors were given. Ted was the grandson of the late Jessie and Earnest Hay of Lexington. Lexington Progress 5 Jan 2011 PERCY ALBERT DOTSON - Funeral services for Mr. Albert Dotson, 84, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 15, 2007, from the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorensen Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip McGill officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dotson died Monday, March 12, 2007. He was born in Dickson County, TN, son of the late Willie and Nellie Luther Dotson. Mr. Dotson was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during WW II. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1848 and was the owner and operator of Dotson Floor Covering for more than 50 years. Mr. Dotson was a longtime member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for almost 50 years. Mr. Dotson was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Lee Dotson. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Nellie Parker Dotson of Jackson; two sons, Barry Dotson and wife Camille of Murfreesboro, TN and Jerry Dotson and wife Jackie of Jackson; a daughter, Angela Mangrum and husband Mark of Decaturville, TN; a brother, Carl Dotson and wife Pauline of Jackson; a sister, Betty Bolding and husband Kenneth of Jackson; five grandchildren, Kevin Dotson, Steven Dotson, Kimberly Dotson, Joshua Mangrum and Mary Mangrum; four great-grandchildren, Margaret Dotson, Suzy Dotson, Charlotte Dotson and Jack Dotson. WILLIAM DOUGLAS - Funeral services for William (Bill) B. Douglass, Sr. age 83, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 1, 2006, at George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home-North Chapel, with Bob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery. Bill died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Bill was born on March 21, 1923, in Whitlock, TN , the son of the late William Carlos Douglass and Rheudean Bailey Douglass. Bill was a retired supervisor for Martin Marietta. He was a long time member of West Jackson Baptist Church and the Sanctuary Class. He was a member of the Exchange Club. He was very active with the Carl Perkins Center. He was also named Exchange Club Man of The Year. He was a member of the VFW Post 6496; was a Veteran of WWII as a member of the Marine Corps in the South Pacific; was associated with the Jackson Boxing Club as a judge for many years and was also a National Golden Glove Judge. Survivors include three daughters, Diane Henderson (husband Rickey), Denise Himmelreich (husband Eric) and Ginny Tedford (husband Steve); one son, Bill Douglass, Jr.; one grandson, Jason Tedford and wife Sarah; five granddaughters, Rachel and Katie Henderson, Erica and Sarah Himmelreich and Allison Detty and husband Carl; three great-grandsons, Christopher, Zach and Austin; two sisters, June Hinson and Dolores Valentine, three brothers, Terry, Bobby and Jack Douglass. Mr. Douglass was preceded in death by his wife, Lurline Johnson Douglass; his parents, William Carlos and Rheudean Douglass; a sister, Peggie Pearce; and a daughter, Kathy June Douglass. Pallbearers to serve are Rickey Henderson, Steve Tedford, Eric Himmelreich, Stanley Pillow, Tony Valentine and Chase Morgan. Honorary pallbearers to serve are the Sanctuary Class, Exchange Club and members of VFW Post 6496. SHIRLEY JEAN (PRITCHARD) DOWDELL , age 76, has gone home to be with her heavenly Father. She was born May 2, 1931, in Madison County, Jackson, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Floyd and Virgie Pritchard, her first husband; Kenneth Dowdell; and a brother, Mainard E. Pritchard. Shirley is survived by her husband, William 'Bill" Dowdell; two sons, Stephen and wife, Pat of Harrah, OK; son, Phillip; one grandson, Brian Dowdell and wife, Lindsey; one sister, Loretta A. Pritchard Taylor and husband Kenneth of Dresden, TN; two brothers, Larry W. Pritchard and wife Patsy; Gerald L. Pritchard, both of Jackson, TN; one step-daughter Cheryl Ritterskamp and husband John; two step-grandchildren, Nicole and Hunter of Midwest City, OK; one stepson, Bob Dowdell and wife, Katherine; and two step-grandchildren, Katie and Robert of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was a faithful servant to her Lord, church, and family. She was a member of Country Estates Baptist Church of Midwest City, OK. Funeral services will be held at Country Estates Baptist Church, Monday at 11am. The funeral will be conducted by Ford Funeral Service with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Jackson, TN. LARRY J.D. DOYLE - Services for Mr. Larry Doyle, 57, were held Tuesday Sept. 23, 2008 ini the chapel of Lawrence-Sorenson Home Jackson TN, with Rev. Harold Montgomery officiating. Burial followed in Big Springs Cemetery near Pinson. Mr. Doyle died September 20, 2008 at his residence in Jackson. He was born on November 8, 1950 in Henderson County and was educated in the county schools. Mr. Doyle was an associate worker at Aspell Recovery Center for several years. He had an avid interest in billiards and played in many tournament. He was a member of Big Springs Methodist. Mr. Doyle was preceded by his father J.D. Doyle and a grandson, John Cody Rickman. He leaves his wife Sheila of Jackson; a daughter Tabitha Rickman of Lexington; two stepdaughters Deana (Byron) Maxedon of Selmer TN and Tommye (Jonathan) Bingham of Jackson; his mother and stepfather Flostine and Ray Woods of Lexington; a sister Tina (Mark) Moore of Lexington and seven grandchildren.
