Madison County TN Obituaries MARY (JONES) INGRAM - Widow of Prominent Jackson Banker Found Dead In Bed - Jackson, Tenn., June 9 -- Mrs. Mary Jones Ingram, aged 42, popular society leader and widow of William Ashley Ingram, prominent Jackson banker, who died suddenly a year ago, was found dead in bed at her home this morning at 8 o'clock by her daughters, Misses Alice Isobel and Mary Jones Ingram. Physicians attributed her death to high blood pressure and complications, she was slightly ill Sunday and remained in her room. A physician called to her bedside did not think her condition serious. The announcement of her death cast a gloom over the community, where for so many years she had been prominently identified in social circles. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Jimmie T. Jones, for many years a practicing physician of Jackson. Her grandfather was the late Dr. A. W. Jones, who was president of the Memphis Conference Female Institute for many years. She was a niece of Dr. Ames B. Jones, of Trenton, also head of the M. C. F. I. for years, and prominent in the Memphis Conference. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at the residence, the exact hour not having been determined. Rev. L. W. Doud of the Episcopal Church, and Rev. J. T. IVEY , age 58, died Feb. 18, 2010 at Jackson Madison Hospital. The family chose cremation.
