ROBERT LESTER QUINN
- Services for Mr. Robert Lester "Bob" Quinn, 74, will be today at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Lawrence-Sorenson Funeral Home with Mr. Billy Smith and Mr. Kelby Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakfield Cemetery.
Mr. Quinn died Tuesday morning at his home. He was the son of the late Earnest and Leora Barrett Quinn and was born in Perry County, Tennessee. Mr. Quinn served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the North Jackson Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Jean G. Quinn of Jackson; one son, Scotty Nolan Quinn of Huron; one daughter, Marchetti Q. Stephens, and Lawrence E. Sanford of Moneta, Va.; one brother, Clarence E. Quinn of Medina; one sister, Lorene King of Jackson, three half-sisters of Elkhart, Ind., and two grandchildren, Charles Lester Hodge with the U. S. Army in Germany and Jeffery Dwight Stephens of Moneta, Va.
He was preceded in death in 1968 by a son, Sheryl Lester Quinn. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 10 a.m. until time of service.

SHERYL LESTER QUINN
, 20 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lester Quinn of Oakfield, was fatally injured early Saturday morning in an automobile mishap near Jacksonville, Fla.
PO3/C Quinn was a member of the 82nd Squadrom stationed at Cecil Field, Jacksonville.
He and a friend were reportedly returning from a birthday party when their car struck a bridge railing. The friend, who was driving, was not injured.
He was born in Gibson County on Jan. 29, 1948, but moved to Oakfield in 1956 with his family. He was a graduate of Northside High School and during his senior year was president of the Future Farmers of America chapter.
Following his graduation, he joined the Navy and during his training period was assigned to the U.S.S. America, an aircraft carrier.
He was a member of the Campbell Street Church of Christ.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Scott Quinn; a sister, Marchette Quinn, both of Oakfield, and his grandmother, Mrs. Minnie Garner of Trenton.
The body will be returned to Jackson with services to be announced.
Lanier Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
