Felix Grundy Gibbs
Second Oldest Home in Madison County


This home was built by Felix Grundy Gibbs and his mother Susan Gibbs. It was built on a hill selected because there were two springs nearby, has solid, handmade brick walls, four chimneys and twelve steps tot eh front entrance.

The driveway from Mifflin Road has cedars on each side. This 212 acre farm has never left the ownership of he family. It is presently owned by Mrs. Randolph Dietrich (1888) a descendent of Felix and Susan Gibbs.

Federal officers used this home for their headquarters during the Civil War.
