Robert Cooke Kefauver - Madisonville, Tenn.,
Feb. 19 – Robert Cooke Kefauver, father of Sen. Estes Kefauver (D-Tenn.), died at his home today following an extended
illness. He was 87. The elder Kefauver suffered a stroke last summer and had been in ill health for several months.

Alice Mills - Sweetwater, Tenn. - Funeral
services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. for Mrs. Alice Mills, 67, who died Monday at her home near here. She was the
mother of Frank Stevens of Kingsport. The Rev. Edd Johnson, pastor of the Church of God, where the services were
held, officiated. Interment was made in the Westview Cemetery. In addition to Frank Stevens, Mrs. Mills is survived
by three sons, Thomas J. Stevens and Walter Stevens of Sweetwater and Henry Stevens of Loudon; by two daughters,
Mrs. R. L. Mason of Cleveland, and Mrs. Solon White of London, Ky.; by one sister, Miss Amanda Scott of Hanson,
Ky., and by one brother, Tom Scott of Harriman.

Charles Sylvester - Sweetwater, Tenn.
- Injured in an automobile accident Saturday, Charles Sylvester, senior and football player at Tellico Plains high
school, died in a hospital here today.
Sylvester was riding in an automobile that struck a parked truck outside the city limits. The driver of the car,
who was uninjured, said lights of an approaching car blinded him.
