C. B. Dodson - Lobelville, Perry County -
Mr. N. Dodson, of our vicinity received a letter from Texas, a few days since, announcing the death of his son,
C. B. Dodson, Jr., under the most sad circumstances: he was hauling lumber from Fort Worth, when his team ran away
and threw him off, the wagon passing over his body killing him instantly. This was on the 4th of Dec.

Eli Duncan - Mr. Eli Duncan, one of the oldest
and most highly respected citizens of Perry County, died at the family home on Brush Creek at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday
after about three years illness due to nervous breakdown. He has been seriously ill for three weeks and his death
was not unexpected. Mr. Duncan was 77 years of age, and has spent his entire life on the farm where he died, and
will be buried today near the home in the little plot, to await the final resurrection. Deceased was a member of
the Primitive Baptist Church, and is survived by five children, his wife having passed on several years ago. The
children are Frank Duncan, Jackson, Tenn., A. C. Duncan, Dover, Ohio, Paul Duncan, of the home address; Mrs. Raymond
Davis, Dover, Ohio, and Mrs. Eva Cook, Linden, Route 4.

Mrs. W. F. Ferguson - Lobelville, Perry County
- Mrs. W. F. Ferguson, of our village, died Dec. 10th, after a protracted illness, having been confined to her
room for about twelve months with consumption.

Mrs. R. Godwin - Lobelville, Perry County
- Mrs. R. Godwin, of our county, died on the 12th of Dec. with disease of the heart. She ate dinner, apparently
in good health, and died before 3 p.m.

Jack Robert Grimes - Services for Jack Robert
Grimes were Sunday at Parsons Mortuary with the Rev. J. V. Reeves officiating. Burial was in Ledbetter Cemetery
in Perry County. Mr. Grimes, who was 68, died Friday night at Decatur County General Hospital apparently of a heart
attack. He was born in Perry County and was a retired farmer. He leaves his wife, Ruth Grimes of Parsons; three
brothers, Raymond Grimes of Linden, Denzil and James Grimes, both of Lexington; two sisters, Lillie Ledbetter of
Linden and Annie DePriest of Evansville, Ind.

JAMES MITCHELL HAWKINS - Services for James
Mitchell Hawkins were conducted Friday afternoon at Hunt Hill Cemetery, Perry County, by the Rev. R. W. Woodward
of Linden. Mr. Hawkins, who was 78, died at his home last Wednesday night of cerebral hemorrhage. He had been ill
for the past three months. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ella Hawkins; a son, Elmer Hawkins of Paris; and a
daughter, Mrs. Eva Flice of Los Angeles, Cal. Pafford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

LAMAR, ELIZA KILPATRICK - Funeral services for Mrs. Eliza Kilpatrick
Lamar, 80, were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Maury County. The Rev.
Robert Hall officiating. Burial was in McClain cemetery. Mrs. Lamar died Sunday at her home in Mount Joy after
a long illness. A native of Perry County, she was the daughter of William and Melvin Cooper Kilpatrick. She was
a member of the Mount Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her husband, James Thomas Lamar, died in 1918. She
is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Newt Irwin, Miss Nellie Lamar, and Mrs. Clint Dale; two sons, Whitfield and
Thomas Lamar, all of Mount Pleasant; a brother, John Kilpatrick of Linden; a sister, Mrs. Betty McClain of Hohenwald;
15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

James McCullum - Lobelville, Perry County
- Mr. James McCullum, of our district, lost his life on Thursday, during Christmas, under one of the most heartrending
circumstances. He was carrying a heavy stick of wood on his shoulder to put on his fire, the ground being covered
with snow and ice, he fell, the log falling on his head killing him instantly. Mr. McCullum was a good citizen.
He left a wife and four children to mourn the loss of a father and husband.

MCLEMORE, CHARLES C., “Funeral services for
Charles C. McLemore, 69, Lobelville, Tenn., were Tuesday, March 21, at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel, Hohenwald,
Tenn., with Thomas McLemore officiating. Burial was in Swiss Cemetery. Mr. McLemore died Sunday, March 19, at Baptist
Hospital, Nashville, Tenn., after an extended illness. He was a former resident of Rogersville, a veteran, a retired
accountant, and a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Joyce McLemore; daughter, Carol Barnette,
both of Lobelville; son, Thomas McLemore, Ridgeland, Miss., sisters, Waweda McLemore, Frankie Love, both of Nashville;
four grandchildren.”

Mrs. Virginia Broadway Richardson, age 77,
of Shelbyville, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Heritage Medical Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday,
November 1, 2008, at First United Methodist Church. Reverend Dr. Lloyd Doyle will officiate, with burial to follow
in Mount Auburn Church Cemetery in Clifton, Tennessee. Visitation will be one hour prior to service Saturday at
the church. She was born April 4, 1931, in Perry County, Tennessee, to the late Grady and Eula Smith Broadway.
She was retired from the Job Placement Training Association with the State of Tennessee. She was a member of Eastern
Star, substitute teacher, and an avid bridge player. She was member of the Board of Directors of Farm Bureau, United
Methodist Church Women and a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband
Joe Richardson in 2005, and a daughter, Brenda Faye Richardson. She is survived by two sons, Randy (Ellen) Richardson,
of Madison, Alabama and Rondal Richardson, of Nashville; a daughter, Ginger Robinson, of Athens, Tennessee; sister,
Essie King, of Clifton, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Brian (Susanne) Richardson, Kevin Richardson, Michele Richardson,
Abby Robinson, and Phillip Robinson Memorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church or Mount Auburn Church
in Clifton, Tennessee. Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. J. W. Sheppard - Died at Beardstown on
the 3rd inst., Mrs. Sheppard, wife of J. W. Sheppard. She leaves a fond husband and five or six children. A short
time ago her mother and mother-in-law died. We extend our sympathies to the bereaved families.

Captain Thomas J. Whitfield - Died, Whitfield.
At his residence in Perry County, Tennessee of pneumonia, Captain Thomas J. Whitfield. He was born in Williamson
County, near Tank, in February 1808. He was well-known in the counties of Davidson, Hickman and Humphreys. He was
Colonel of the Militia of Davidson and was Brigadier General of Militia of Hickman, Lawrence, Hardin and others;
also, Captain in the 42nd Tennessee (Confederate) Regiment. He was well beloved by all who knew him and he leaves
many friends and relations to mourn his loss.

GROVER GEORGE C. WILLIAMS - Services for Mr.
Grover George C. Williams were Sunday, Feb. 10 2002 in the Chapel of Decatur County Funeral Home. A private family
burial was held in Perry County. Mr. Williams, 54, died Wednesday at his home. He was a disabled Air Force Veteran.
He leaves two sons, Cochise S. of Paragould AR, Guianta M. of Lake City AR; two sisters, Chelo Williams Thomas
of Warren OH and Diana Williams Reece of St. Paul MN; one brother George Williams of San ANtonio Texas ; one grandchild
Ella Elisabeth Williams of Paragould AR.
