This day M W McCown reported to the court that he had used for the support of John Stofle & family the sum of $10.50 of the money placed in his hands for that purpose, it is ordered by the court that he use the balance of said money for the support of the widow of said John Stofle.

Ordered by the court that Yett & Ray be allowed to move the horse rack or a part of it which stands near their house to such other place as may be designated by the building committee of the court house.
A majority of the Justices of the peace being present and voting therefore it is ordered by the court that the building committee of the court house and Jail be authorized to purchase additional public grounds & for the Jail site the vote being as follows those voting for said order were Gaut, Baker, Johnson I Trotter Havis Ogle, Whaley Bogart, Huffaker Maples, Mills W J. Trotter & Evans and those voting against were John McMahan.
Ordered by the court that Oliver Blair be requested to take James Randles to John Kear superintendent of poor house, and that the commissioners of the poor house be required to receive said Randles into the poor house.
This day the court proceeded to the election of Trustees for Nancy Academy and after voting and counting out the votes it appeared that B M Chandler recd. fifteen votes, M W McCown fifteen votes S B Hammer fourteen votes Wellington McMahan thirteen votes M A Rawlings twelve votes A Lawson three votes & J W Chambers one vote, thereupon the court appointed the said B M Chandler M. W. McCown, S B Hammer Wellington McMahan & M A Rawlings Trustees for said Nancy Academy for two years, and thereupon they gave bond with Lemuel Bogart as their security and were duly sworn.

This day the court binds out Noah Stephens to P M Atchley until he is twenty one years of age he being now fourteen years of age after the manner of an apprentice upon the following terms to wit the said P M Atchley is to give him when the said boy becomes of age one horse saddle & Bridle worth one hundred dollars and he is to give him one years schooling which he is to have not less than three months in each year and he is and he is to give him one suit of good out going cloths & two suits of every day clothing when he comes of age & bond was given with John Lindsey & Saml Atchley as securities

sufficient cause appearing to the court that Mariah Clark is a lunatic
commonly called Mariah Ogle is probably a Lunatic and that she is a resident of
this Sevier County, it is therefore ordered by the court that the Sheriff
summon a jury consisting of twelve free holders of said County to ascertain by
inquisition such lunacy and that they make return there of to the next term of
this court.
This day B. D. Brabson guardian to Reps A Davis presented to the court his resignation as such guardian guardian which resignation was accepted by the court.
Reps A Davis a minor heir of Reps J. Davis deceased having chosen John S. McNutt to act as his guardian the court therefore appoints the said John S. McNutt guardian to the said Reps A. Davis, and thereupon the said John S. McNutt appeared in open court and gave bond as such guardian in the sum of eight thousand dollars with W A McNutt & J C Murphy as his securities and he was thereupon duly sworn.
Ordered by the court that B. D. Brabson late guardian to Reps A Davis a minor orphan pay over to John S. McNutt the present guardian all the estate in his hands of the said Reps A Davis

This day John Reece guardian to Randal Reece tendered to the court his resignation as such guardian which was accepted by the court.
This day the court appointed Eli Fox guardian to Randal Reece minor orphan he thereupon gave bond in the sum of two thousand dollars with John Reece and W. F. Nichols as his securities, and he was duly sworn.
Ordered by the court that John Reece former guardian to Randal Reece a minor orphan pay over to Eli Fox the present guardian all the estate in his hands of the said Randal Reece.
This day John. T. Shields Revenue Collector of Sevier County returned a list of insolvencies for the year 1856 it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that we was prevented from making said return at the last January term of this court, which report is as follows.

This day John Mullendore guardian
to Mary H Riggin minor orphan tendered to the court his resignation as such
guardian, and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that said Mary H
Riggin was living in Monroe County and the largest part of her estate was also
in Monroe County and that the county court of Monroe County had appointed
Henderson Hix guardian to said Mary H Riggin who had given bond & security
according to law the court therefore accepts said resignation, and it is
ordered by the court that said guardian John Mullendore place whatever
effects of the said Mary H Riggin he has in his hands into the hands of
Henderson Hix the guardian in Monroe County.
This day B M Chandler clerk of this court presented to the court the following settlements to wit, a settlement made with B D & T C Brabson Executors of John Brabson decd. a settlement made with William Huskey Administrator of the Estate of Isaac Huskey Decd. a settlement made with Sarah M Hodges guardian to Martha E Williams, a Settlement made with John Mullendore guardian to the minor heirs of Ignatius Riggin Decd. a settlement made with John Ruse guardian to Randle Ruse all of which is confirmed by the court and ordered to be recorded.

Wednesday 8th April 1857.
On this the 8th day of
April 1857 L. W. Burn moved the court to appoint a guardian for William P Burn
who is a minor under the age of twenty one years with special power and
authority to sell assign and transfer the land warrant No. 45102 for one
hundred and sixty acres of land dated the 4th day of October 1856
and issued to the said William P Burn for the services of Wilson Burn private
in the war with of 1812 and it appearing to the court that it will be
clearly and manifestly to the interest of the said William P Burn to have said
land warrant sold assigned and transferred and to have the proceeds applied to
his use and benefit and it further appearing to the court that L W Burns has
executed bond with good security It is ordered by the court that the said L W
Burns be and he is hereby appointed a special guardian with special power and
authority to sell assign and transfer the said Land warrant No 45102 for one
hundred and sixty acres of land dated the 4th day of October 1856
and issued to the said William P Burn and that he sell assign and transfer said
warrant for the use and benefit of the said William P Burn.
On this the 8th day of
April 1857 Cornelius Fox moved the court to appoint a guardian for William
Tunes, Ira Tunes, Jane Tunes, Nancy Tunes, and Wesley Tunes minor children of
John Tunes Decd. who are minors under the age of twenty one years, with special
power and authority to sell and assign and transfer the land warrant No.
55170 for one hundred and sixty acres of land dated the 28th day of
January 1857, and issued to the said William Tunes, Ira Tunes, Jane Tunes,
Nancy Tunes and Wesley Tunes ------------------------------ for the services of
John Tunes private in the war with with Mexico
-------------------------- And it appearing to the court that it will be
clearly and manifestly to the interest of the said William Tunes, Ira Tunes,
