William B. Ament - DIED, On the 29th July, at the Cumberland Rolling Mill, Stewart county, Ten., Mr. William B. Ament, aged 36 years, formerly of Nashville.

Brittan Bafeiss, Esq. -
DIED, At his residence in Stewart county, Ten. on Thursday the 16th inst., Brittan Bafeiss, Esq., in the 77th year of his age. Mr. B. was a staunch Whig during the Revolutionary war, and as a volunteer soldier in the Carolinas and Georgia, saw much hard service. He was an affectionate husband, a kind and indulgent father, a good master and a benevolent neighbor. He lived a useful life and died “the death of the Righteous.”

Mrs. Loney Rae Chadwick, Graveside services for Mrs. Loney Rae Chadwick, 81 were conducted on April 22, 1968 at Hicks Cemetery with Rev. William E. Franks officiating.
Mrs. Chadwick was born April 26, 1886 in Stewart Co, TN. She was the daughter of Monarchus Buchanan “Buck” Fox and Ann Elizabeth “Aliza” Shaw. She was united in marriage on March 26, 1900 to Coleman “Collie” Albert Chadwick. To this union were 9 children born. Three boys and six girls. She died April 20, 1968 at Trigg County Hospital after an illness of four months.

Preceded her in death, were her parents Buck & Aliza Fox, one sister Donna “Doney” Pearl Chadwick, her husband Colman Albert Chadwick, one son, Walter Raford Chadwick and two daughters, Martha Alice Shaw, Ollie M. Shaw.

Survivors are : Two sons William Herley Chadwick of Nortonville, KY., Barney O. Chadwick of Big Rock, TN. Four daughters, Mrs. Bethel Dawson of Herndon, KY Mrs. Frocie Knight of Ceder Lake, Ind. Mrs. Velma Hicks of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Elizabeth Fox of Gary, Ind. Two Brother, William Dewey Fox of Dover, Cortus Evans Fox of Hazel, KY., One sister, Sally Sorta Outland of Hopkinsville, KY., and 28 grandchildren. She was a member of the Nodel Baptist Church.

Miss Gracie Mae Glover, aged 10, who died Thursday at the family home near Oakwood [Kentucky] was buried Friday at Hickory Grove. Services were conducted at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. The parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Glover and two brothers survive.

Will W. Glover, 62, retired farmer of Noah Springs, Kentucky died at his home at 9 a.m. today following an illness of four years. Funeral services will be conducted from the grave in the Hickory Grove cemetery at 11 a.m., Wednesday by the Rev. N. D. Story. Pallbearers will be Martin and Elbert Foster, William Jimpson, Claud King, Essie Heflin and Ivery Woods.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Julia Glover, two sons, Frank and Wesley Glover, and three daughters, Misses Martha and Rosa Glover of Noah Springs and Mrs. Maudie Johnson of Jordan Springs.
Born on May 3, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Glover, he had spent his entire life in the community in which he died. He had many friends and was a devoted member of the Hickory Grove Baptist church.

Mary Jane French Overlin
The Moline (IL) Advance, September 7, 1922
Mary Jane French was born in Steward county, Tennessee, March 12, 1831 and departed this life August 31, 1922 at the home of her son, T. W. Overlin, near Moline, aged 91 years, 5 months and 19 days.
She was united in marriage to James Overlin in 1848. To this union six children were born, four boys and two girls. The most of her life was spent in Missouri and Illinois but the past few years was spent with her son near Moline. Mrs. Overlin united with the Baptist church in her early years. She has lived a faithful life. A spirit of helpfulness to all people was hers.
Those left to mourn her loss are two sons; T. W. Overlin of Moline, Kansas; F. F. Overlin of Fowler, Colorado and one daughter, Mrs. H. Hammond of Canada and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Overlin and three of the children preceded Mrs. Overlin to the great beyond some years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Star School House Saturday morning, September 2, at 10 o'clock with Rev. M. G. McIntosh officiating and G. W. Tilton funeral director. The body was laid to rest in the Moline cemetery.

Aged Husband Dies In Attempt To Save Wife
Dover, Tenn. - Funeral services will be held today for an aged couple who died when fire destroyed their home near here yesterday.
A grandson said William Henry Whitford, 76, died in an unsuccessful attempt to rescue his invalid wife from the burning house.
The grandson, Winfred Whitford, 12, said he ran to summon aid while his grandfather attempted to save the 86-year-old Mrs. Whitford. He said both were dead and the home was nearly destroyed when he returned with an uncle.
