Sarah Hughes petitions court to get land belonging to Abner Hughes, Dec'd
Whereas Abner Hughes not long since departed this life seized and possessed of a certain tract or parcel of land containing four hundred and ninety four acres said land, lying and being in Sullivan County, and on Reedy Creek adjourning the land of Jacob Droke. Rheas, Crutsingers Lattures and Shipleys, lines including the place where the Said Abner Hughes lived and died, now be it known, that I Sarah Hughes, relict of the said Anber Hughs deceased, who died intestate that I intend to apply to the Circuit Court for Sullivan County on the third Monday of March 1840, with an expectation to get an order of said Court, directing the Sheriff if said County to Summons a Jury to allot and set off to me, any Dower in said land as mentioned above. All those interested will please attend.

To Samuel Rhea, and Thomas White, Administrators of the estate of Abner Huges deceased, of the county of Sullivan State of Tennessee, Samuel Hughes of the county of Shelby state of Illinois, Jacob Woolane and Sarah his wife, of the State of Kentucky, Hiram Mongel and Rebecca his wife of the county of Washington State of Virginia, Abner Hughes of the county of Washington state of Virginia, George Roller and Elizabeth his wife, Mordecai L. Whitaker and Eliza his wife, Joseph Hughes, Lucinda Hughes, Benjamin F. Hughes and Jeremiah Hughes, heirs at law and distributees of the Estate of Abner Hughes deceased. Take notice that at the next term of the Circuit Court for Sullivan County to he held at the Court House in Blountsville on the third Monday in July next I shall make an application by petition to said Court for my dower in the lands of which Abner Hughes deceased died seized and possessed in said county.

In the Circuit Court at Blountville, Tennessee
In this cause, it appearing from the bill which is sworn to, that Thurman Jobe, the defendant, is a non-resident
of the State of Tennessee, he is therefore hereby required to appear, on the fourth Monday of September next before
the Judge of the Circuit Court, at the court house in Blountville, Tennessee, and make defense to the bill for
divorce filed against him in said Court by Oma Jobe, or otherwise the bill will be taken for confessed and the
cause set for hearing ex parte. It is further ordered that this notice be published for four consecutive weeks
in the Kingsport Times, a newspaper published at Kingsport, Tennessee

Notice of Land to be sold
By virtue of a writ, from the Circuit Court of Sullivan county, and to me directed, I will sell for cash, to the highest bidder, at the court house in the town of Blountville, on Thursday the 18th day of June next, all the right, title, claim and interest, that John and James O'Brien, have, in and to, one house and lot known as the Goshen lot - one house and lot occupied by L. Goghill. Also one vacant adjoining adjoining the same. Also two vacant lots enclosed and near the Sunday School House. One improved lot No. __ three forths of one improved lot No. 28, on Main Street. One house and lot occupied by Emely Spurlock - One house and lot on the bank of the river near Edmons' Tavern, occupied by A. Campbell; all being and lying in the town of Kingsport, in Sullivan county, Tennessee.
The above property will be sold to satisfy said writ, it being in favor of William Lynn.
