UPCHURCH, JOSEPH - Joseph Upchurch, colored, who was shot by Si Sanford, at Mason, on February 21, an account of which was given in our issue last week, died as a result of the wounds in his head and breast on Wednesday of last week.

UZZELL, W. T. - Mr. W. T. Uzzell, a prominent citizen of Osceola, Ark., died suddenly at St. Joseph's Hospital, Memphis Monday after a surgical operation.  Mr. Uzzell in his younger years was a pupil of the late James Byars and has many relatives and friends here who are grieved to learn of his death.
