JNO. A. ANDERSON --JOHNSON CITY, May 15. – Jno.
A. Anderson, of Buffalo, Carter county, died today of liver complaint, at his home, aged sixty-five years. Mr.
Anderson was one of the best farmers and traders in upper East Tennessee and had accumulated a large landed estate
in Unicoi, Carter and Washington counties, the bulk of which he deeded during his life time to his six children.
His only daughter, Jennie, is the wife of Congressman A. A. Taylor.

HARVEY PAYNE BROCE - Erwin, Tenn. - Harvey
Payne Broce, 54, widely known East Tennessee newspaper publisher, and engaged since 1924 in the publishing of the
Erwin Record, a weekly paper, died at noon Tuesday at the Appalachian Hospital in Johnson City. He had been in
declining health for several years but became seriously ill only about four weeks ago. Funeral services will be
conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the family residence on Love Street, with the Rev. C. H. Williams and the
Rev. Carl Miller officiating. Interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Broce was connected with the Kingsport Times for about four years, and had also seen service on the Bristol
Herald Courier, the Johnson City papers and a Roanoke, Virginia newspaper before beginning publication in 1924
of the Erwin Record, which he and Mrs. Broce have continuted since that time.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alma Mauk Broce; one son, Keith Broce of Erwin; one brother, J. A. Broce of Bristol;
and five sisters, Mrs. C. F. Hawk of Bristol, Mrs. J. C. Heaberlin of Beckley, W. Va., Mrs. N. H. Price of Norfolk,
Va., and Mrs. Millard Crotzer of Ocean View, Va., and Mrs. French Carter of Washington, D. C.

LINDA SUE (KISER) CAMPBELL , 47, Rt. 1, Campbell
Lane, Unicoi, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Campbell was a native of Washington
County and a daughter of the late Paul and Rosa Weatherly Ollinger. Mrs. Campbell was a Baptist and was a senior
at East Tennessee State University. Survivors include her husband, Richard D. Campbell; two daughters, Mrs. Wade
(Paula) Hardin, Elizabethton, and Cynthia Taylor, Jonesborough; a son, Ronnie Kiser Jr., Watauga; three sisters,
Kathleen Ollinger, Dryden, Va., Rosia Hardin, Johnson City, and Debra Kiser, Watauga; four brothers, Edward Ollinger,
Kingsport, Richard Ollinger, Mountain City, Paul Ollinger Jr., Watauga, and Alvin Hardin, Nashville; five grandchildren,
Michael Cannon, Nicholas Taylor, Tesia Taylor, Zackery and Ezra Kiser; and a special aunt, Ruth Ollinger, Johnson
City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Woodall-Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
CAMPBELL -- Graveside services for Mrs. Linda Sue Kiser Campbell, 47, Rt. 1, Campbell Lane, Unicoi, who died Sunday,
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Dallas Gregg officiating. The
procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and proceed to the cemetery for the service. Woodall-Anderson

WILLIAM GARLAND -- Died, near Erwin, Unicoi
county, a few days ago, Mr. Wm. Garland. Deceased was 87 years of age, was an honest, moral, upright, Christian
gentleman and will be missed by the people of the community.

BENJAMIN KIDD --, of Unicoi county, died
at his home on January 12, 1889, aged ninety years and four months. His wife Catherine, died on the 24th, at the
advanced age of ninety-five years.

Mack Riddle, 78, formerly of 818 N. Main Street, Erwin, Tennessee, passed
away Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Skylyn Place. Born on June 2, 1927 in Erwin, Tennessee, he was a son of the
late James and Carrie Harris Riddle. Mr. Riddle was a veteran of the United States Army and retired after 37 years
of service from Clinchfield Railroad as a carman. Survivors include a son, Johnny R. Riddle of Roebuck; two daughters,
Joan Mull of Jonesville and Brenda Edwards of Norwood, NC; two sisters, Bessie Watson and Ruth Gilbert both of
Erwin, Tennessee; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Riddle was preceded in death by a son, William
M. Riddle; two brothers, Lawrence Riddle and Birdie Harris; and two sisters, Ethel Price and Inise Bennett. Funeral
services for Mr. Riddle will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2005 Ledford Funeral Home, 720 Ohio Avenue,
Erwin, Tennessee with the Rev. Monroe Willis officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service
from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will be at
the home the home of Mr. Riddle, 818 N. Main Street, Erwin, Tennessee.
