Asael Ranes (Rains) land request, surveyed 261 acres in Warren Co, on the NW side of Barren fork and both sides of Dry fork of Barren fork of Cany fork. Beginning at a Post Oak in Williams Rains SW boundary line of his claim of 250 acres running south forty chains to a black Oak and east ten chains to a Post Oak a conditional line and south 37 chains and 46 links to a Sycamore by a spring in said Dry fork and west 38 chains & 40 links to a stake in the open barren, and east to and past William Ranses (Rains) corner 79 chains to the beginning which is truly represented in the annexed plat and was surveyed 23 May 1807 by Patrick MacEachern, --Edward McDannell & Phillip Ranse, CC.-- Asael Ranse ~ marker

William Ranse (Rains) land request, surveyed 200 acres in Warren Co, plat shows 250 acres on both sides of Barren fork. Beginning at a black Oak about 15 chians west of a branch running and east 48 chains to a post Oak and north 52 chains and 9 links to a Stake in an open barren and west 48 chains to a Hickory and south 50 poles and 9 links to the beginning which is truly represented in the annexed plat and was surveyed 23 May 1808 by Patrick MacEachern DS--Edward McDannell & Lewis Duncan, CC-- William Ranse ~ marker
