Founder's Son Dies En Route to Cowboy Meeting FORT DAVIS. Texas (AP)- Herbert Daniel Bloys, 72, son of the founder of the Bloys Camp Meeting, died Monday in a pickup truck while en route to the encampment which opens Tuesday near Marfa. The death apparently was due to natural causes. Bloy's nephew, Leslie Fawcett Jr. of San Antonio, was with him and flagged a car for help. The body was taken to Fort Davis. Bloys' father, the late Foster W. Bloys, founded the non-denominational religious camp meeting originally for cowboys and ranchmen. Hebert Bloys was born in Coleman and came to Fort Davis with his parents in 1888, He never married. Bloys was a former Jeff Davis County clerk but was retired. August 18, 1959 Survivors include his sister. Mrs. Leslie Estelle Fawcett of San Antonio, and two brothers, Foy of Fort Davis and Arthur of Van Horn.

Mrs. H C Cochran. 54, To Be Buried Sunday GRAND PRAIRIE. Texas Aug. 12 — Funeral services for Mrs. Henry C. Cochran, 54. who died on her birthday, will he held at 230 p.m. Sunday at the Adventist Church in Dalworth Park. The Rev. R P. Montgomery will  of officiate and burial will be in South- land Cemetery. Grand Prairie. She is survived by her husband!, one daughter. Mrs. Mildred Bayliss, Valentine. Jeff Davis County; one son. Kinsey Cochran, Grand Prairie; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wheeler. Grand Prairie; and two brothers. Clarence Huffstetter. Dallas, and Fred Huffstetter, Point Richmond. Calif. August 13, 1939

J. P. Weatherby Dies. FORT DAVIS. Texas, March 20 (AP). —Jason P. Weatherby. 81. Jeff Davis County Judge for twenty years. Mason for fifty and manager of a trading company thirty years, died Wednesday. His wife and four children survive. The funeral will be held Thursday.1940-03-21

Hunter Found Shot to Death FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 8 AP.—Clyde Burns. Fort Worth auto dealer, was found dead Monday, a bullet in his body, forty-five miles north of Fort Davis. Texas. He had been hunting. Bums' body was found by Ace Turk of Melvin, also a hunter. Sheriff Tom Gray of Jeff Davis County said Burns, riding a horse, had just reached the top of a mountain when he was shot in the hark at the waist. Mrs. Burns, a CAP pilot, flew to Pecos after being informed of the shooting. She returned to Fort Worth Tuesday. Burns body was en route here for services and burial. Gray said Justice of the Peace Berry Scrobie will withhold an inquest verdict until the investigation is complete. The first inquiry indicates the; shooting was accidental, the sheriff said. There were from twelve to fifteen hunters in the area where Burns' body was found. November 9, 1949

George E. Reynolds FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - George Eaton Reynolds, 84, was buried in Oakvood Cemetery after services Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church here. Mr. Reynolds, West Texas cattleman who owned ranches in Shackelford and Jeff Davis counties, died Monday. January 6, 1965
