DR.. W. K. CURTIS DEAD Dr. W. K. Curtis, aged 7?, years, a well known citizen of Midland, died in El Paso. Texas. Saturday. February 27th. He was a pioneer citizen of the Midland section and was engaged in ranching for many years He was a 33 degree Mason and the members of this order throughout West Texas mourn his death. He is survived by his wife and one son Funeral services were conducted at Midland Monday by George J. Ruth, minister of the Christian church of Big Spring. Big Spring Herald 3/5/1926
Mary Roberts Corley TERRELL, Dec. 22 (U.P) _ Mrs. Mary Roberts Corley, wife of T. E. Corley, former auditor of the Texas Midland railroad, died early today of a heart attack at her home Surviving are her husband, Two daughters, one brother, B. S. Roberts of Terrell, and two sisters. Lige Davis- Prominent Citizen of Midland Dead Lige Davis, prominent cattleman of Midland, died suddenly in his office at Midland, Thursday, Feb. 7th. He is survived by his wife, a son, Don Davis, and three daughters. Miss Georgia Davis, Miss Loraine Davis, and Mrs. Ben Dublin. A large party of friends from Big Spring, including a delegation of fourteen members of the B. P. 0. E,, attended the funeral services at Midland Friday afternoon. 2/15/1925 Big Spring Herald
Mrs. C. B. Dunagan Last Rites for Midland Pioneer MIDLAND. Feb. 15.—Funeral services for Mrs. C. B. Dunagan, 70, pioneer resident of Midland, who died here Friday, were held Saturday at 5 p. m. with Rev. W. P. Borum, pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Mrs. Dunagan moved to Midland in 1906 with her husband, who engaged in the real estate business and later served as county cleric of Midland county. Survivors include her husband, four sons: H. B., John, and L. E. Dunagan of Midland, and C. S. Dunagan of California; and one daughter. Mrs. Z. B. Willkins of Dallas. Pallbearers were County Judge E. H. Barron, A. Wadley. M. R. Hill, J. A. L.C. Heald about 60, well-known farmer of Midland county, died at. his home in the Stokes community east of here, Monday morning at 4:30 o'clock. He had been in bad health for more than a year and had been seriously ill for several weeks. He is survived by his 'widow, three daughters, Mrs. Jimmie Bateman of Abilene, Mrs. Johnny Bishop, Mrs. Ballard, and, three sons, Earl Heald of Stanton, Marshall and Merle Heald of Midland County. He had spent many years in West Texas, having lived near Anon, Texas, before he came to Midland county about nine years ago and settled on the land which he improved and on which he was still living at the time of his death.6/11/1935 Big Spring Daily Herald

MRS. R. R. ROGERS DIED AT EL PASO Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Rogers returned Tuesday evening from El Paso where they had been called by the death of his brother's wife, Mrs. R K. Rogers. She died at her home in the Lower Valley. Friday, February 27th . Death was due to chronic heart trouble. Funeral service were conducted at the chapel of the Peake & Hagedorn Undertaking Co.. and the remains were .sent t o her old home at Kingsville for interment. Many friends deeply sympathize with the sorrowing relatives. R. K. Rogers who is a railway mail clerk for the Texas & Pacific railway has been coming to Big Spring on his run for the past 20 years. Tom Hugh Stovell ( South Lake) left this world Wednesday, March 24, 2004 and was reunited with his wife of fifty years, Dorothy Stovell, in our Savior's Kingdom. He was born April 19, 1919.Tom was a graduate of Texas A & M University with a degree in Accounting. He exited his military career in World War II as a Major in the Army Air Corps. He was awarded many decorations during his service; his Distinguished Flying Cross was awarded for his valor under enemy fire trying to rescue fellow airmen. This would become a symbol of his personal philosophies throughout the remainder of his life. After leaving the service to his country, Tom was elected to the Texas House of Representatives from Brewster County in 1948 and married Dorothy Caldwell Schroeder on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 1949. His professional life was in banking and spans most of West Texas including the First National Bank of Alpine, Texas, President of the First National Bank of Fort Stockton, Texas, and Senior Vice President of Commercial Bank and Trust in Midland, Texas.
Tom Stovell completed his duty here as a lifelong student, writer, philosopher, artist, father, grandfather and friend to continue his journey in what he called "the next great frontier."Survivors: He is survived by his son Steven Charles Schroeder and his daughter Cynthia Stovell Choate, her husband Gary and five beloved grandchildren. Tom Stovell's Life will be celebrated in Midland, Texas, on Monday April 19, 2004 at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel at 1 P.M. There will be an Honorary Flag Ceremony at graveside at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine, Texas, on Tuesday April 20 at 11 A.M.
Mrs. A. T Terry, mother of Mrs. Chas Dublin of this city, died at her home in Midland about 3'o'clock Tuesday Morning, August 12th, and funeral services were conducted at Midland Tuesday afternoon. Many friends deeply sympathize with Mrs. Dublin in her great bereavement. 8/15/1924 Big Spring Herald

Yeager Rites to Be Held Wednesday Special to The News MIDLAND. March 17.—Last rites will be said at Enid. Okla.. Wednesday for Dr. J. B. Yeager, 76, beloved friend and kindly philosopher; of Midland, who died of a heart attack Sunday at the home of his only child. W. A. Yeager. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Monday and the body was forwarded to Enid, his former home, for burial. The aged man was universally loved here. Daily visits among youths who worked in business houses, as well as visits to business men. and his gentle but always optimistic philosophies on life had made the retired physician one of the city's favorites with everyone who knew him.
