              Rankin Museum

Housed in historic Yates Hotel (c. 1927) built by oil tycoon Ira Yates; features restored lobby, original wicker furniture and ceiling fan, pioneer artifacts, meteorite believed to be fragment of the one whose crater can be seen between Odessa and Monahans, and restored 1940 Ford fire truck. Upstairs ongoing displays are being constructed. One room is dedicated to the men and women of Rankin who have served our country, while yet another displays over 50 years  of the license plates from Texas and other areas.  The museum is located at 200 W. Fifth St. Rankin, Texas

           McCamey Town

The Mendoza Trail Museum

 The museum in McCamey was opened in 1966 and is named for Juan Domínguez de Mendoza, a Spanish explorer who passed through West Texas. Also on museum grounds are historic Adrian House and Santa Fe RR depot. On U.S. 67 east. Ms. Nancy Eagleton taught social studies in the McCamey High School from 1943 until 1961. She inspired her students by  requiring them to produce papers on local history. By getting her classes involved in the towns history she managed to set the foundation for the museum. Many of her students volunteered their time in setting up displays in the musuem. Ms. Nancy Eagleton also wrote stories for “The Bulletin of the Texas Historical Society” and “The Naturalist.” She was also a founding member of the Upton County Historical Society, and belonged to numerous historical society's.
