Oklahoma City, OK--LEA ALLEN, born in Childress, Tx. and died Sunday in Okla. City, OK. She owned and operated a restaurant on East Sheridan during WWII and in 1948 relocated to 6th and Hudson. She was a member of the Sooner Unit Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayden Allen, and a daughter Pat Weldon. Survived by a son, Hayden Allen, Jr. OKC; Granddaughter, Kathy Weldon; Great Granddaughter Mandy Ridley; Brother Illey Compton of Childress, Tx. Sisters Marie Darter and Bess Purcell both of Childress, Tx. Services will be 10:00 AM Tues. Edmond, OK--BENNY JOE JAMES, 48, of Edmond born October 11, 1943 in Childress, Tx. He was an auto wholesaler. Edmond resident for 10 years. Married Mary Franklin Jan. 18, 1981 in Las Vegas. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and her daughter, Lisa Hannah; six children Willard Danny and Jody James of Mustang, Tobye Teague of Plano, Tx., Nena Simpson, Amarillo, Tx. and Dawna Whitner of Arlington, Tx.; grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Dallas, Melissa, and Kellyrae; parents, Cora and Elbert James of Amarillo; brothers Dorsey, of Crestview, Fl., and Frank of Gallup, NM; and many, many friends. Oklahoma City, OK--RUSSELL EDGAR PATTERSON, passed away February 8, 1990, born December 16, 1917 near Childress, TX, He was the youngest son of Ella and Clarince Patterson. They moved to Banner, OK when he was a baby. Russell had farmed in the Mustang area, then married Ethel May Stewart in 1944. They continued farming and run a bottle dairy several years. 1959 Russell opened a service station, 10th and Council, OKC where he made many friends. He began Patterson Sand Co, which turned into a father and son business for 30 years. Russell is survived by his wife, Ethel May of the home; son, Keith and wife, Toyie; grandson, Russell Travis all of OKC; brother, Guy and sister, Florence Abbott both of Yukon; 4 nephews and 6 nieces. He will be missed by many. Family suggest contributions to American Cancer Society. Dibble, OK--JERRY WAYNE VAUGHT, Dibble, OK, died Friday in Veterans Medical Center. Born in Childress, TX May 18, 1947. He moved to OKC in 1974 & married Marjory, daughter of Millard & Elizabeth Smith of OKC. Jerry & Marjory moved to Dibble in 1979 & maintained a home there. Jerry was a volunteer fireman for Dibble Fire Dept. He loved children & drove the bus for Dibble Schools. He was also involved in school & community activities & at the time of death was a reg. candidate for the Dibble School Board. Jerry known to some as ""Quick Start'' was a member of the American Legion, DVA & Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the US Marines in Vietnam. Jerry is survived by his wife, Marjory & 4 children, Mondaie Noel 8, Marjorie Elizabeth 7, Jerrod Shawn 4 & Timothy Justin 2. Service 10:30 am Monday at Midway Baptist Church in Dibble, interment in Blanchard Cemetery. Oklahoma City, OK--PATRICIA LOUISE WELDON, 53 of OKC, died Wednesday. She was born in Childress TX. Preceded in death by her husband, John Weldon. Pat is survived by her mother, Lea Allen of OKC; daughter, Kathy and granddaughter, Mandy; brother, Hayden Allen of OKC.
