Burnet County was created in 1852 from parts of Bell, Williamson and Travis Counties and named after David G. Burnet, provisional president of the Republic of Texas. Its county seat is Burnet, which is located in the center of the county, with Marble Falls to the South, Bertram to the East. Burnet is named as "The Bluebonnet Capital of Texas"!
