SCOTT, IDA
On the 16th instant, after a brief illness, Ida, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Scott, of North Llano, died. Ida was born August 2, 1901. She was a sweet, dutiful child, faithful in her attendance at church and Sunday school; the oast year, being absent but one Sunday, when she was away from the city. On the 12th, she was in attendance at her class in Sunday school; the next went to her school, the third grade, though at the end of time suffering from the first effects of the disease that carried her off. on Wednesday evening she was operated on for appendicitis, and died the next day at 1pm.The funeral services were conducted at the residence of her parents, by J.M. Streater, pastor of the Christian church, assisted by Reverands Robinson and Oatman. the interment was in the city cemetery. Her going away so suddenly was a great shock and grief to her parents and friends, who trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ will try to say: We laid little leaves away; Petals from our new blown rose; Fairer will they bloom today, In the land of Sweet Repose. Here we only know in part; Unto God we leave the rest; When sight fails, by faith, the heart Turns to him who knoweth best. The third grade pupils with their teachers, were present at the services at the grave. We commend the parents and friends to Him who can 'bind up the broken hearted, and give a helaing balm to the wounded spirit.' J.M. Streater
