Daughter of Texas Leader In Temperance Work Wedded To Army Officer in Panama
The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Devan Watts of Austin formerly of Dallas, to Lieut. Carl Edward Green of Fort Radolph, Panama Canal Zone. formerly of Austin took place last Wednesday at Fort Randolph.
The bride's mother is president of the Texas W.C.T.U. Mrs Green completed her junior year at the University of Texas in June and is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She visited in Dallas early in the summer as a guest of her brother and sister, Mr and Mrs Claude DeVan Watts Jr. 6145 Richmond. Mrs Green left Austin July 24 for Panama where she arrived Tuesday Aug 1 She wore a wedding gown of heavy white satin trimmed with real lace. Her veil of lace and bridal illusion was worn previouly by a cousin She also wore a small comb belonging to the bridesgroom's foster mother. She carried a bouquet of 100 orchids. Lieutenant Green wore his full dress white uniform. He is a former student of the University of Texas and a graduate of West Point.
Mr and Mrs. Claude DeVan Watts Sr. and Mrs Harry Archibald and Mrs. Howard Bull, all of Austin were the guests of Mr. and Mrs Watts Jr. over the weekend
