Obituary of O'Dell C. Connell

ASTORIA, Ill. - O'Dell C. Connell, 82, of Ipava, Ill., and formerly Heidenheimer died Thursday, May 10, at an Astoria, Ill., nursing home.  Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Lewistown Church of the Nazarene in Lewistown, Ill., with the Rev. Randy Munson officiating.  Burial with full military honors provided by the Ipava American Legion Post No. 17 will be in Ipava Cemetery in Ipava.  Mr. Connell was born in Heidenheimer to Olan and Abbie Green Connell and he retired from the U.S. Army in 1970.  He then worked as manager at South Texas Tire Test Fleet in Devine, Texas, was elected as constable in Devine and then worked as Chief of Police 1975-1976 in Astoria.  Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
